I feel this game is akin to the Chesterfield home game last season. Regardless of anyone's thoughts on the the owner and managerial appointment, I'd recommend that all fans get behind the team and Manager for this game.

We all know our shortcomings but this game is massive and we need to get 3pts otherwise we are in the mire.

As ever, we have a very big squad so let's hope Askey can find a mix of players that can play his preferred system and style. Only Brown and Pope deserve to be certain starters for me this season.

I think you gotta have one of your two midfield players bombing on so thats ive put whitfield in there just to create space .

We at home so gone with a attack minded right back and left back i think Montano is a player if you get behind is a very good player .

Worrall and Gibbons work well in tandem and thats what we need down the right well in what i saw last season that was the case .

Howskins to replace Smith and Crookes to play as is centre half partner .

Harris to partner Pope but if not working replace Pope with Miller as Morecambes a big physical side so run intelligently in behind them

If oyeleke can play then replace Hannant with him and play whitfield in hannants position .

Lets see if the new manager has the intelligence to get the best out of the squad .

Yes, this game feels massive. Everyone with Port Vale still in their hearts should surely get down to Vale Park on Saturday and really support the team/manager. We need to make some noise. Sadly i think many have given up and had the love of Vale beaten out of them, and many more might well go the same way in the summer!
