Match Thread Nuneaton B v Port Vale

Trialists in a non league pre season game?!?!

Disgusting from Smurf yet again. I bet he's told Aspin to give trials to players because it's the cheap option. I bet he called them kids or boys as well.

Smurf out.

Or could it be we played trialists because we didn't have enough players? No of course not. It was all a cunning plan by the owner.

This is what you just don't get. There are no smurf acolytes.

There's only reasonable logical people and biased angry people.

I assume you're in the latter category, RB, the number of times you get your hair off on here. I took you off my ignore list last week. Bad mistake.

I wish I could have a day off. I just can't help calling out stupid over the top crowbarred criticism when there is nothing there to criticize.

By reasonable logical people do you mean people who think that Mr Smurthwaite is doing an excellent job as custodian of Port Vale?

Probably 6 of those players aren't going to get significant game time until Newcastle Town as you'd think we'll get closer and closer to the preferred line up over the next 3 games. So for those players it probably was a useful exercise.

I generally tune out to OVF now apart from when I'm working in countries where I can't get Twitter as its blocked, because I have no strong opinion on Smurthwaite and I've watched and listened to a minority of fans continually bang on about Vale chairmen for 45 years. We all had a chance to have a say in running the club and the majority never stumped up any cash. If they had Bratt could have been voted out at any point. I dislike the way every footballing related thread ends up becoming the same people trying to twist everything to have a dig at the chairman. I'd far rather have threads which were football related and have a seperate section, which I can ignore, where people can obsess away about all things they want to blame Smurthwaite for. Some are valid in my opinion, although not worth getting worked up over and some eg Calveley and Dior loan moves were clearly in the club's and both players long-term interest. When Smurtwaite goes, which I'm sure he will some day as all chairmen do, there will be the same complaints going on about the new guy. That's the biggest thing I've learnt over 45 years watching The Vale.

Great post, I write this as every subsequent post is exactly as you have said.

Who cares? The main friendly was on Tuesday and last night was if anything a Vale XI so ones who missed out who are available got minutes and we got chance to look at a few players. No harm done.

Ultimately if Nuneaton and the EFL mainly allow them to become a club we send loans too and give our younger players game time it will only help us surely? Local enough that they can still train full time with us and get game time with them?

Think its time for a break from this shambles.

If you're 'sick of seeing moaning about Smurf' then you're part of the reason we finished 89/92 last season.

Toodle pip.

Hate posts like this. So just because someone isn’t constantly every post moaning and kicking off at the chairman means they’re the reason we did so poorly last season.

Get ******* real.

Someone on Twitter said one was Kieran Westwood from stafford rangers?

Dunno if true. He's a left back (I think) but looks like he played centre mid.

He's highly thought of at Stafford Rangers. Good young lad apparently with a hell of a left foot shot and good engine. From Birmingham area.

Yeah I'm the unreasonable one - moaning that we play 2 trialists in a non-league friendly.

Bea Smith used to drive me up the wall. Everything else is just funny, certainly not getting my hair off.

Probably put me back on ignore though rather than reply to me?

Who thinks that?

about 3 trolls who have been banned and his family members?

It's not the case that you either love or hate him, you either think he's terrible or excellent.

I think he's done some really good things since October-ish. I think he did some really shambolic things before then.

I concur, though I have to admit I think it was me that turned this into another Smurf thread this time. It was out of frustration though and I'd much rather we talk about football than conspiracy theories constantly.

It's so laughable to blame other fans. It's further proof that you haven't got a clue what your talking about in my opinion.

What do you want to happen? Everyone grabs their pitchforks and we go and string Smurf up because we played a friendly with 2 trialists against a team that he does not even own?

Give us factual (Actual facts not made up facts) evidence of the **** you constantly accuse him of, or shut up and let us look forward to the competitive team it would appear that we have assembled.
