As the preparations for the new season continue with a visit to Nuneaton, already well known to us for off-field activities and the presence of some of our players in advance, what news of injuries, likely formation, trial players,etc.

I think we'll stick with a 3-4-3 type formation. Hornby will probably get 90 minutes in goal and as JRC mentioned in the Halifax thread we could see McKeown given a go on the left side of a back three alongside Legge and Vassel (if both fit and available).

 

Be interesting to see what trialists we'll have - any of the previous lot still training with us does anyone know? Toure etc.

I can't even begin to think what side we'll cobble toegether tonight. I think it goes without saying that last nights side is probably a lot closer to our starting 11 than tonight will be.

Surely we aren't seriously considering this going into the season. I know it worked for England but Monty cannot be wasted at centre half, and Hannant at wing back.

I think Hannant played wing back for Gateshead under Aspin in the same system that was played last night.

Agree. Montano is never a centre half and Hannant looks good going forward so would be wasted there. Would be worried if that’s how we line up first game.
