Brexit again...

How much has it cost us then, phil?

Brexit hasn't really cost anything yet.

The fear mongering has cost a few bob.

The uncertainty has cost plenty.

The siege mentality hasn't been cheap.

The cliff edge analogies weren't free.

The inaction has been very expensive.

The cost of leaving the EU will be dependent on what we agree to pay them.

The cost of the aftermath of leaving, and probably staying in at this time, will be high.

The cost of sending out leaflets to every household in the land making promises, will far exceed the £9m paid for them.

The cost to the politicos of breaking those promises will continue for years.

The total cost caused by the leavers and remainers will be, and has been, immeasurable .

But the cost of the act of brexit won't be paid until we leave.

Strangely the cost of the above was only the £9m paid for the leaflets before the result was announced..... go figure.

One. Do you realise that the cost of our membership of the EU is about £8.9 billion a year?

Two. that amounts to just over 1% of our annual GDP spending or, in other words, a tiny drop in the ocean.

And for that relatively small sum of money we get full free access to the world's biggest market for goods, capital, labour and investments. Almost 500 million people and the envy of all our trading partners around the world.

Footnote. Last year alone our banking and financial industries made a profit of £28 billion in their dealings with the EU.

So let's put to bed this daft myth that we pay loads in and get nothing back.

But the Brexiteers claim, "We'll get our country back" TS.....what the hell does that even mean?

This whole, sad saga being played out in the 'Sauce Bottle' - sorry, Houses of Parliament - reminds me of an expression used by one of my university political professors when saying...'The best way to dividing the body politic even more than usual is when the ballot box threatens to take away its political power, in which case the most likely comeback is to call for recounts until the ballot box gets it right'. He would stress that those holding 'Executive Power' will do whatever it takes to hold on to it.

What a load of rubbish. It's already cost certain industries a lot of jobs. Very little you say, how can you be so blind to what is going on.

Blind, you've seen nothing yet, wait until Jezza and his cronies get in?

Investors will be queuing up to get out of the UK.

Royal Assent given. Don't know what the tactics are, if delay not given by the EU, and no-deal not possible, only other option on Friday is to revoke.

One or two EU members say there will be a deal before Friday.Who knows what that will be?

You'll like the irony in this comment, but can we not just turn back the clock three years and get our country back?

One thing for certain Sage, this country will never be the same again after this circus. Both Labour and the Tories will lose millions of voters and two new parties will emerge that will represent Leavers and Remainers.

Will make for interesting politics?

Think of a simple jigsaw puzzle and the UK as the final corner piece completed to make the jigsaw.

Then think of the jigsaw made up of 28 pieces. UK being one of them (The jigsaw is one superstate)

Only the jigsaw is incomplete...even the jigsaw being actually complete awaits new pieces being added to the jigsaw. In order words new countries such as Turkey (Already in the Custom union)

The UK referendum simply stated...we don't want to be part of a jigsaw...we want to be unique in our own right as our piece is self sustainable.
