Brexit again...

Recommended Posts

There are over 450 million people in Europe, the majority of whom see value and positives in being in the EU, while acknowledging its imperfections.

You think that 17 million in the UK know better.

And that 17 million isn't even the majority of the population in the UK. 16 million voted remain. Another 10 million plus did not vote to leave. And there are the other 1 million ex-pats abroad who were denied a vote. Yes, leavers won the vote but it was not an overwhelming endorsement to crash out and burn.

That's why MPs can't agree on a easy solution. Most of them can see the dangers and stupidity of driving off a cliff and want nothing to do with it.

According to the Mail and Express, yes.

He didn't say that though did he, geo? He said that a portion of leavers were racists - and that's true. Take a look at the antics of UKIP, Batten and Robinson, the EDL and BNP. They ALL voted leave.

It does indeed appear that there are elements of anti-semitism in Labour, like there is islamophobia in the Tory Party but I fail to see the relevance to Brexit.

What amazes me in all this is that 27 countries value being part of the EU - presumably because they can see its merits and the enormous advantages it brings. Yet a minority of people in this country can't see that and believe that it's a dreadful evil thing that has done us great harm.

Why do you think we spent 15 years trying to get in? Why do you think politicians of the status of Major, Blair, Clark, Cable, Brown, Cameron and Heseltine think it's daft to leave? Are all these people fools and naves or might they just have a point?

Just flat out denying the referendum result now? Or twisting logic by claiming those that didn't vote would have voted to remain?

Obviously most of the 27 are happy as they take out more than they put in.

We've had 3 years of it Sage. We voted to leave despite all of the doomsday scare stories.

We've had three years of leavers like Davis, Johnson and Co doing nothing to bring about a solution to this because they had no bloody idea from the start.

Ignorance is bliss.

So you're very happy I take it?

Why are you responding to my posts anyway...I thought you had put me on ignore...if you change your mind and decide you want to put me back on ignore I don't think I will lose any sleep

But what would I do for laughs then?!

Oh...so because Europe appear to be happy we should be happy as well?

Don't agree with that analogy...I don't suppose you have noticed the mess Italy, Ireland and Greece have gotten into in recent years...let's just brush that under the carpet as well

Read this bloke's blog today.

He is an ardent Brexiteer and a Daily Mail columnist, yet even he is now saying it's a mess, a lot riskier than we thought and with serious economic costs.

That's what some of us have been saying for weeks but there's no point knocking if no-one is at home.

Industry in the EU is going into recession after a fresh fall in both new orders and exports, raising the risk of a full-blown economic slump.A meeting of EU finance ministers in Bucharest will discuss the implications for Italy’s huge public debt caused by the emigration of skilled workers.

Surely after 3 years everyone should be more aware of the effects of Brexit on the UK? Better or worse than you thought in changing 45 years of negotiating, will it be done overnight or over a period of 10 years or so. Who really knows? Do the politicians know?
