It could mean anything from paying it off completely to agreeing to pay him a percentage of it to get him to leave.

The fact that he has joined Ebbsfleet means we may not have had to pay him off or we would only have paid him a small amount to leave.

There's something very odd gone on here, we sign a bloke who played 30-odd games in a L1 promotion side and come the start of the season he looked well short of the mark. He can't get near the team under Aspo and then, unsurprisingly, gets offloaded but goes to a National League side. Was he crocked when Brown signed him? It doesn't stack up, on paper he should have been easily good enough for L2.

Anyway, it's best all round he moves on, good luck to him.

He must have been crocked when we signed him. It’s the only logical option. Either we didn’t do a medical or we did, but thought sod it he’ll recover, and signed him anyway. Whichever way you look at it, very poor from the club.

Will be interesting to see how he goes on at his new club, will he be fit enough?

This is the problem when you sign players on stats, but without actually seeing them play for yourself. Stats would suggest that Wilson MUST be a good player. However, sometimes your eyes tell you a different, but possibly more accurate, story. Hence Rudge’s preference for self referral.
