Surely Bournemouth must be happy with Whitfield's progress at the Vale? I can't imagine there being a money issue if it's loan deals that are being discussed as the costs to Lincoln and Vale will be the same, it'll come down to if there's a permanent signing offer to be done in which case Lincoln may (or may not) offer more than the Vale.

Assuming it's a loan deal I would think we were in the pound seats as he's a first choice player at the Vale and is getting great experience, why would Bournemouth want to change that unless a higher league team wanted to take him and he could gain higher level experience?

It'll come down to wage contribution which we shouldn't skimp on. He is integral to Vale. Will he get the automatic starts he gets at Vale? There is the potential of a very good second half to the season therefore hopefully a similar challenge to Lincoln. We'll hopefully not be scrapping at the bottom for long with the play offs just 9 points away at one point this weekend.

 

I just hope he wants to be a part of a rejuvenated side and we can afford to keep Bournemouth happy.

The only reason Lincoln are getting bigger gates is because they sold 150 quid season tickets on the back of promotion and the cup run. Fair play to them they have used the momentum well but they are far from a bigger club than us.

Nearest Prem competition? It makes a difference to a community club having a good spell when there is none.

If we can't do a deal for Ben then our fall back option should be Louis Dodds.

 

jesus wept, why? Whitfield is a pacey tricky winger come centre midfield. Dodds is a slow, one pace link up player. We have slow midfielders already in Kay and Tonge we dont need another.
