Be interesting to see what reception he gets when he returns to Vale Park. I always felt he was fairly steady. He had the odd good game and a few bad ones but was generally ok at right back.

Never been a big fan of Purkiss but if I'm at VP when he plays for Swindon I will give him a warm reception. Think he is definitely having a dig at Vale and I have to say on the evidence so far I agree with him.

Disappointed he's gone. He had a poor season last year although he did say that he was never at full fitness. Seemed like a decent bloke and a useful character to have in the dressing room. So that's another we need to replace. Do all clubs have such a massive influx of new players each season? Looking back to the halcyon days of the '90s, I'm sure we'd only get 4 or 5 new players in over the summer.

Look around at players on retained lists and how many have signed up vs ours and the fact that no senior has signed up.

I'm delighted he's gone. He was bloody useless last season and one of te reasons we went down. Countless mistakes that cost us goals at important times. Was steady first season but dreadful last season.

His replacement looks a lot more accomplished and has a string of promotions on his cv. The 50 career goals for a right back looks good- I assume he is a reliable penalty taker with this stat?

If you're talking about Antony Kay, he isn't a right back! He's a CB that used to be a CM.

The thing with the tripe up Scotland Zebra is that players like Moult, Lionel Ainsworth, Robertson can hold regular places down. P**s poor standard, even Celtics' main man Griffiths has only played as high as the Championship here. Tanser will probably fit in like a dream.

The amount of deluded Celtic/Scottish fans I see on numerous major Facebook pages/groups is ridiculous, so many think the top few would breeze the PL & that Celtic would actually compete for the title.

 

 

Then you see the 4th best side in the country is snapping up Scott Tanser & rushing to get international clearance for him within 24 hours for a Europa League game
