My confidence that something might change during the summer and things be put right has gone as well.

In the last few days, Stoke's chairman has been invited on to bbc1 to contribute to a political debate live on television. Ours has been arguing with his own supporters on an Internet forum for nearly two days solid. Just take a step back and reflect on that.

I think we need to reflect that PC's performance on Question Time was inept at best.Nothing positive came out of his mouth.Must be a Stoke- on-Trent thing.

How many League One chairmen have been on Question Time?

Surely Coates was on there as a "local boy made good" success story who is now a major employer?

It didn't harm his case being a Premier League chairman as the BBC never miss a chance to remind us how great it is.

Here's another angle. If Smurf had gone on and projected himself as he (sometimes) does on here, how would that have presented us as a club on national television?

its better the devil you know, think he really wants to be given the chance to right his wrongs, lets see what a new season brings, cant be much worse than the previous 15 plus years.

He has been given the chance to put things right and he's cocked it up - massively! I have absolutely zero faith in him as the leader of our club. The sooner he goes the better as far as I am concerned. He says he's sorry for his mistakes then carries on making more. Throwing money at a problem is not a smart way of solving a problem. You need a strategy something that has been conspicuous by it's absence since he took sole control of the club.

I think you should set up a new Forum as l do not know how to do that

And the title

Do you have confidence in Smurf selling to the right party

For me that is more important than any that is posted here

Other than our table position that is what preoccupies my mind most

I shouldn't use that as a yardstick,Paul Nuttall and Eddie Izzard have been on Question Time?

Our League One status has preoccupied me from July 2016.

He was positive about the resurgence of the Ceramic Industry just off the top of my head so that's not true

Correct TP and stating manufacturing is improving.Sorry.Even that was just stating a fact not an opinion. He didn't mention his own business and the affect Brexit may have, just a generalised view. It's going to be devastating type of thing.Dissing UKIP and not happy with Corbyn's comrades. Not too good really.

I have a few issues with that question Smurf. Do I have confidence in you selling to the right party? Based on the answers you've given to many questions put to you over the last few days, no not really.

I believe you should sell, I believe the right buyers are out there, but I don't believe your views on who to sell to are based on what is best for Port Vale FC, I believe they are based on what is best for Norman Smurthwaite.

The way you repeatedly mention the potential purchase of the club being through a loan. The club is in debt to the tune of £3.7m (at least) to you, do I have confidence that you will bridge the gap through increased revenue? Absolutely not, your track record over the last 4 years, plus the answers you've given to ticket initiatives over the last few days shows that you have no idea how to get bums on seats and people spending their money at VP.

Rather than focusing on the means of purchasing the club, I'm more interested in comparing long term plans for the club, and methods of attracting more fans.

Judging by some previous performances on there from celebrities and prominent business people it's a tough gig and I thought he did ok.

He gave his opinion on Brexit despite it being the unpopular one, and made a good point reference the Education system which stopped a couple of panelists on their track, but waffled when it came to the Terrorism/Guantanamo Bay question.

I thought they might have thrown the question about gambling advertising in to put him on the spot as it's been heavily in the news, that would have give him something to sit up about I guess :-)

Can we stay on topic please this is not a discussion about champagne socialists.

I wouldn't have the confidence in Smurf to make a cup of tea, never have had. At the very first meeting when they took over, I thought Wildes spoke really well but wondered who the buffoon was with him. Obviously then I didn't know Wildes had no money in it.

Because until you find someone who is willing to pay the asking price and satisfies your criteria, you're going to have to run the club yourself.

Give them what they want Norman sell to Synetics let them borrow what they need to finance the club which would probably be the same as your Directors Loans at present!

Or the Hedge Funders just like Coventry City and Sisu then they would have something to moan about when things go wrong!

If a Consortium bought us with say 6-8 Directors each having a stake of say a £1 mill each whats the difference to us owing money to them individually or to just one man?

Better the devil you know I say he will turn it round!!

Probably nerves got the better of him.Denise next time?

To add a bit of balance I think Smurf lacks a bit of confidence.
