Has Norm Lost It?

The timing is a bit out when everyone is skint at the end of January after paying off the Christmas bills but to the well off that scenario doesn't exist.

Yeah the deadline cuts it fine. I think simply announcing it early was good though. In the past I remember details not emerging until near the end of the season.

He's insulting fans on twitter again, whilst we're in the middle of a season ticket promotion campaign. The blokes thick, and yet some still support him. Crazy. He's a liability, enough is enough, he has to go now. Embarrassing, and damaging the club with every comment he comes out with.

[/url]

He should have apologised immediately. He just seems to ride rough-shot over people and then wonders why people stop going to games and then he starts moaning again. Smurf, please just keep your thoughts to yourself.

The only "numptie" here is you. You're attacking supporters for following the chairman on twitter. It's twitter. It's what you do. It's called following. Not stalking.

Sadly you bypass the fact that the first class idiot also represents our great football club as the owner. Something we can do nothing about. Therefore I find it quite reasonable that fans question his actions on such a high profile media platform.

His actions damage our football club with every passing week and you blame supporters of the club.

Pat yourself on the back.

You may like to twist everything round to suit your sorry attitude...but I just told the truth! If you don't like what someone says on Twitter, or Facebook, or whatever - stop reading it! Everyone - even Smurf - has the right to express their opinions, and to defend themselves against other people's opinions, in whichever medium they choose. If someone continues to read his Tweets, even though they know they will disagree with / abhor / loathe or ridicule them, that suggests an element of stalkerishness (yes - I know!). I agree that people can take issue with what he says - but it is not a fact that he is harming the club, merely your opinion.

Exactly, and air heads on here are proud to call him a buffoon.

I think certain fans on here put other fans off going as much as Smurf does. Idiots on both sides.

Not sure someone's opinion on this forum is going to stop another fan from wanting to go & watch the Vale. It'd be a pretty poor excuse too.

They do care. Fans from other clubs take the ****. You could argue that potential players / managers / investors could see his tweets, through agents, fellow players etc and take a dislike to the way he conducts his business, the impression he gives through his poor grammar and inability to spell. He represents the club and it gives a bad impression.

Gerald Ratner nearly bankrupted Ratners by one statement in public about the quality of their products, they had to change the company name too.

Correct - but that isn't the case, and I would never argue with that, I suppose I could have lengthened my post by adding "as long as it isn't offensive / racist / sexist / ageist or otherwise offensive...I just took it as read that I was arguing against the constant negativity of some fans, and the fact that no-one forces them to endure Smurf's outbursts!

It's more the constant bickering and division of fans that is off putting Tomo. When one group of fans is calling the chairman every name under the sun and the other group is just wanting to go to the games and is getting called happy clapper/blind/etc etc for not wanting to join in with the chairman bashing. This forum fuels that fire considerably...it's been going on since 2010ish and it can't be helping.

I know it's Stoke who will take any opportunity to poke fun, but it is a bit embarrassing to me:

I can't blame them totally, and was surprised to see one or two on these seeming sympathetic, and on a different matter, one of there fans had a perfect understanding of a certain Premiership club, this is what he posted (the 'he' at the start is Norman) :-

Quote from the Oatcake -

'he does lack a certain amount of class, similar to the dildo brothers and lady slut at Wet Sham'

Brilliant and insightful.

Vale Park is hardly a hotbed of anti-Smurthwaite protest, is it?!? If Bell or Bratt had pulled some of the stunts Smurthwaite has done, they would have been run out of town by now by angry mobs with pitchforks and flaming lanterns!
