Has Norm Lost It?

Santa

Recommended Posts

Ive dreamt up a senario? this entire thread is a dreamt up thread with people stating things about conversations they know nothing about.

*Smurf going above Browns head and approaching Adu via twitter..... No proof anywhere this has occurred

*Smurf picking the team.....no proof this has occurred at all or ever has done

The whole thread is based around these theories and i'm dreaming things up....Jesus wept

He's contacted numerous players on twitter. That's not a dream, it's happened. I wish it hadn't, but it has. That alone is enough to suggest he's losing it.

You've literaly invented a situation, Ronaldo / Messi and got all frustrated and angry about it. "Genuinely" .

And judging that as the best post in the thread? Wow. You have to laugh.

Whoever is in charge you have a handful of 'Ego's' who think they know how to run a football club and will never be happy whoever is in charge FACT!!

Love to see some of these more 'sensitive' supporters attempt to run the club see if they like the constant criticism they constantly dole out!!

I would agree with you there in the most part. People scrutinising everything down to the minutest detail and criticising the small things don't help themselves at all. There are a few on this thread that are scarred from the V2001 disaster and will never help themselves to be postive about the club.

But.............. despite me defending Smurf for a long time, I genuinely don't see what the long-term strategy for the club. He set one out in the summer (It sounded great), then scrapped it in December. Now we seem to be lurching from one mistake to the next, not really learning as we go along.

Smurf is too hands-on. Yes, yes it's his business, but we're 4 years in to this now and we seem to be hurtling backwards. He needs to back off, let Garlick do his job and get someone in to run the football department. I couldn't give a **** if it costs us £50-100k to get the right man, that's about 3 shitty squad players less in my opinion, and totally worth it if he can run the football side better than Smurf does (Which shouldn't be too hard).

Smurfs not daft has he started to get his money back sold alnwick and grant £350000 says he's put £80,000 each year over 4 years = £320000 so £ 30,000 profit then lets streete go for nothing sells smith for £2 million paided £ 1.3 million for club so £700,000 profit foley leaves loan players go back to there clubs players on short term contracts leave so that leaves the team with a few young players on contract but he still owns the land he can then sell the remainder of the team and name to new owners say for £ 2 million or less and rent the ground to them the new owners have then got to start building a new team as well as pay smurf rent win win for smurf.

Again like most of the post on here youve actually not responded to the points raised. i.e people saying he is contacting players WITHOUT THE MANAGERS KNOWLEDGE thats a dream, an invented situation of which there is no proof. He is also one of hundreds of chairman who have contacted players via twitter across the UK and this is nothing special.

looks like weve found an Ego

There probably is no long term strategy because thats pretty difficult when fans demand you leave and a manager is sacked 4-5 games into a season. You could argue that would help is standing with the fans I think though. From personal experiences of Smurf he is hands on because he doesn't like to waste money on wages to pay someone to do something he can do himself which is how hes made is money. His only criticism from me would be that there are some specialist jobs within a football club that with all the will in the world you cant do yourself.

But given that those aren't my views, it's not for me to answer them. You're asking the wrong person. Lets not forget, they were your responses to my statement that you've dreamt up a scenario (Messi/Ronaldo) and ran with it. Your response is quite childish in it's resemblance to "no I haven't you have".

I'll take issue with the, "hundreds of chairmen who have contacted players via twitter across the UK" statement. I don't know of many Chairmen that are even on twitter, bar Norman and Darragh, never mind seen them making initial contact with them on there. I'll take your word for it though, and not fall into the trap again of simply assuming you've dreamt something else up to run with

best post on the thread every ones an expert sat at home behind their PC, having invested a few hundred quid in a season ticket. This chaps invested possibly millions of his own money but doesnt know what hes doing, not that hes made any money before....

NS being successful at making money doesn't make him good at running a football club where it's what happens on the pitch that really matters

£80k a month not a season

No we've seen your views where you basically insult people who don't see the land lie the same as you by calling people thick or not very clever etc..trying to be superior and self righteous. The very fact you havent replied to the post at all I put forward instead picked on a comment about Messi and Ronaldo shows you have no real interest in discussing anyone's points raised including mine, you just want to argue to offer a cheeky reach around to your fellow serial moaners

Have a tug and get the frustration out of your system.

makes him more qualified given hes run businesses with large turnovers before unlike some of the keyboard warriors on here. I do agree he does need a specialist director of football or CEO.

Freddy Adu. Deary me.

Remember when we signed Christopher Mbamba and I warned he would be rubbish. I was slated left right and centre on here. I know the Norwegian league and he was playing at a level similar to Alsace Town. And it's been proven. He can't hack it.

Freddy Adu has just left the Finnish 3rd division. That level is similar to Sunday morning pub team leagues.

If, and it's a big if, Norman was actually being serious in wanting him to come to the club, it just highlights that he hasn't learned the lessons from the summer and also highlights that our recruitment policy continues to have little to no thought in it whatsoever.

He continues to butt in on footballing decisions he admittedly knows nothing about.

Come on then mate you seem to know so much about running a football club these days why don't you put your money where your mouth is?

If I had a downer on every chairman/manager/player we signed then eventually I would be proven right.

I've replied to the points you raise that are worthy of response. Who do you think you are? I'm under no obligation to reply to every point you make. Most aren't really productive and go off typical. Disagreeing with me is fine, I can handle that, especially if you make a decent attempt of it. Unfortunately for you I still hold my views that Smurf is damaging the club (which is the real point of this thread). The evidence for that has been posted over and over, it's indisputable. If someone replies with some reasoned debate that makes me change my mind i'll accept that, where I've probably come across insulting is where people are clearly disagreeing not out of care for Vale, but to blindly defend Smurf. I don't see hatred towards him, just criticism because of the damage he is causing.
