In fairness to Jak, he has been outstanding consistently for ages now week in week out. He's earned a move to a bigger club. If he chooses his club carefully he could become one of the best keepers in the country. I hope he has the sense to avoid Rangers, it could stagnate his career for years. Why any promising young player in superb form would seek to go to Scotland where the standard of football is L1 at best would be beyond me.

This move could be one of the moves out that Smurf alluded to in his RS interview. (Some moves won't be popular). Let's hope that if Smith has a similar clause in his contract it is a better amount for PVFC. Also, can we still put a sell on clause if Jak does go to another club? Let's hope so!

Maybe too late and it'll be down to him or his agent to agree terms. If he knows that big sides are sniffing why would he agree to restrict his opportunities?

I would be dissappointed to see Alnwick go but if he does good luck to the guy at least Vale got money for him and he made a great contribution to the 'cause. If we could get someone of the calibre of Chris Neale in then all's well that ends well.

I think that's the right way to look at it. If he goes then Vale make £250,000 in a season and a half and have good service in the meantime. Also, maybe a lesson or two learned.

 

I think we could see a bit more movement by the deadline the way this is shaping up!

To think Alnwick is still in his early 20's....his potential alone we should be looking at doubling that price at an absolute minimum .

 

Shoddy business if it happens but at the same time, this is what you get with small time businessmen and 4,000 crowds - Vale have no pulling power for a player.

 

Brown has a battle on his hands this season. If Vale comfortably stay up he'll have done a very decent job.
