Management - gives them time to off load players, loan players out and recruit new players.

How in earth were we the only team in the football league to be postponed? That's poor preparation. Crewe on, Wrexham on, Shrewsbury on to name but a few local lower/non league teams.

I think it was probably done deliberately to allow players to recover fitness / bring in new ones / allow the revised lineup to train and settle.

Well it's Market Drayton in the Evo Stick south for me today then - they have managed to get their game on! Don't get me wrong, I'm not too fussed about it being off, think it could work in our favour, but it is a bit embarrassing. Not a bit of snow or ice here at 11.30.

 

Well that was a good decision - Travel, parking, full price admission with a seat in a stand plus 3 cans of beer for under £15!! And an exciting end to end game - 2 nil down after 34 minutes, suddenly hit 3 in 8 minutes, winning 4 - 2 eventually. Of course it doesn't replace the Vale, cos that's who I love. Incidentally, no sign of any snow, ice or water - pitch was fine. Nice afternoon, 6 degrees, well wrapped up, - very enjoyable.

... May be better to wait for warmer weather to play the rearranged game, though I think it's supposed to be played at the first available date that is convenient to both clubs. That would be 24th Jan, now we're no longer playing Coventry on the 25th. I think this may be where the word 'convenient' becomes handy!
