A question to smurf

Recommended Posts

At the beginning of the season smurf told the media that some of Bruno's new signings would be sold on at Christmas time. Given that smith can not be included in this as he is in no way a product of the Bruno regime.

I am sure that only a few weeks until santa we would all like to know which of this amazing pool of talent is proving most popular with premier league managers. Which pemiership managers are constantly mithering him. Do you answer them Norman or do you treat them like an 0800 numbers. Will we see the big money from the sale of Bruno's chain of talent re invested in the squad.

Iam hoping our chairman as learnt his lesson from the last episode of trying to interact with fans on this forum.15 plus years of going no where ,2 administration ,be careful what you wish for, look around you at the many clubs, much bigger than Vale in dispute with the owners, football is no exact science,no guarantee of success, winning football matches requires many elements to come together, stability should be our fist aim, fans keep on about getting into the championship, Burtons a good example stability = success.Keep the faith, together we can succeed

Smurfs heart is in the right place but it's quite clear some terrible decisions were taken in the summer. I mean before a ball was kicked Smurf was predicting we had the Luis Suarez of League One in the Portuguese forward who's name I can't even recall as he never kicked a ball in anger for us! It's just all gone quite Pete Tong after such a promising first month or two.

At this moment in time the wages on the likes of Mac-Intosch, Kiko, Ferguson, Mbamba and Shalaj have been completely wasted.

I've said before on other threads that I don't get the logic of adding players that need to go out on loan to get experience to a squad that already contains half a dozen or more home grown players in the same situation.

I know one thing people should now realise especially Norman and that is what a good front man Tom Pope was and his ''I can replace him for less money'' was a crazy claim.

Norman proven goal scorers cost good wages.

And they don't come with a guarantee. Bury allegedly gave Tom Pope a lucrative 3 year deal believing that they had secured a 20 goal a season man but he didn't find the net often enough ans soon found himself out of the starting eleven, before injury set him back further after he seemed to be starting to score again.

Most successful businessmen achieve results not because they didn't make mistakes but because they learned from them quickly. I believe Smurf could be in this category.
