I'm well aware of what I said but Bruno to date has never used Jones & Paterson in tandem and neither of them are suitable to play as the lone striker due to being vertically challenged.

Last season A J did score a few goals but his goals apart he did jack all else. Jimmy Greaves did very little but score goals but in his case he scored a hat full. What I'm trying to say along with The Sage is that though Popey didn't score a boat load in L1 he contributed in many other departments and so goals were only a small part of his many abilities.

I think we need somebody like Pope, but not actually Pope. Hopefully Forrester may be more what we need, as long as he can stay fit, although I haven't seen enough of him to make an informed judgement yet.

'Were' being the operative word.There was no bigger fan than me ,of Tom Pope,except yourself..He was outstanding in the promotion year,and will never be forgotten.He isn't quick enough now and he doesn't score enough now.His heading ability has never been in question.Ask yourself why Bury wanted to get rid?

Bury wanted to get rid for one reason ££££££

 

Not sure on the numbers but I bet Pope has scored his share this season

and he has had assists too whenever I have seen their goals.

 

He may not have been the best option we could of had up front

but he would have been better than any that Smurf / Bruno has tried so far to replace him.

 

My biggest concern would have been - who would have supplied the ball for him to score ???

 

That's as much of a concern as the goal scorer himself
