To be fair Calvin literally assaulted Clarke with that elbow... off the ball so not even debatable as to be accidental and is lucky he isn't facing the law for that.

 

Expect he will get a 3 game ban on top of the 1 which is probably the best outcome we can hope for.

I did read up on it after posting and you're right - Andrew was an extreme case (I think the FA report says - off the ball, caused such damage that Clarke had to have a special training routine, happened right in front of crowd, walked away with no regard for player's welfare etc) so I think I'm wrong to worry about a hugely lengthy ban for Grant.

So he is going get something like a 6 match ban for something that wasnt even warranting a sending off in the first place. This is why i dont enjoy football anymore as the fa are a joke and the refs and linesman are ***** and ruin it for everybody.

If Grant thinks the ref is a **** or there were other circumstances he needs to appeal. Surely if there'd been anything untoward said in terms of racist language we'd have heard about it by now?

Unfortuantely Grant's disciplinary record (15 bookings last season plus already been suspended twice this season following his sending off last weekend) will not help his cause. It could also reduce his value if other clubs come calling. He certainly appears to have a problem which will not go unnoticed at the FA.

Well I only said that it looks like he had. That OVF article will now be taken to the club offices, placed in the drawer marked "Bill Bell's accounting records" (the one next to "Director payments for V2001 shares") never to be seen again...

It may well be that Granty was hard done by. But again it makes the club look amateurish, payers should have better discipline and the Management team SHOULD have ensured that Grant went up the tunnel and did not come back.

 

The Wengerish comment from Smith that he did not see it, is not good enough, one of the 3 should have.

For his behaviour he deserves what he gets. If it's just a fine then he's got away lightly. He clearly has a discipline and attitude problem. It's a shame he can't make sensible descisions because he is one of out better players.
