I prefer a dusting of American Crew Boosting Powder, a blob of MUK Styling Paste then a quick blast of Silvikrin hairspray, but each to their own!

its a while since i put "product" on my hair.... a no2 every 2 months and wash it with pears soap [that sounds odd but i know what i mean]

its made me think/remember the hair styles ive had.... brush cut, bunch of grapes, mod, skin head, long, perm

brush cut or feather cut growing up

grew it long from around 14 - 18..never had it cut for 4 years apart from a disastrous attempt to trim my fringe (fnaaarrr) myself

had it syled once when i think it was one at the bottom of Smallthorne bank..very nice young lady gave me a wash cut and blow dry..it was a very nice experience indeed.

Since then..no3 or no4 all over please

I prefer Studio Line, but then again I do like to prance around with a saxophone looking like Andrew Ridgeley.

i remember burslem baths and the 2 pools and washing facilities at hanley baths... i only ever went to tunstall baths once [i think] to try scuba.

i think i remember the old fire station in hanley... next to webberley's book shop, but not sure... i remember some of the pubs, the angel. the grapes, the sea lion, the lamb, the red lion and the black lion, the sun and the laddie, the globe and the ivy house... etc etc etc... i remember the fair [wakes] down by hanley park, the marl holes and prefabs and the coal waste tips... christ i feel old

thats because you are old, how you feel is not up to debate:laugh::laugh:

The wakes that used to come to Bradeley every summer. Dodging the Chell Heathers who would try to nick your money on yoru way there from Norton...all 50p of it.

Betty's on Norton estate..she was doing home delivery decades ago. You could have any chaize you wanted from there as long as it was either white or yellow

And the butcher's in Ball Green that used to let you have a ride on his Great Dane..or did I dream that one?

I am from other end of City so my thoughts go back to a man who cycled round Penkhull and had a small corner shop. his name was Stanley and he sold the best, most delicious ice cream in the UK, bar none!! Mum would send us out in the street with a basin to get Stanley to fill it with ice cream. When I met my wife, a Brummie, she was invited to visit his shop and even she drooled each time we had ices from him. I understand he died with the recipe a secret to him and he would not sell it to anyone.

Oh, and the best chippie in Stoke on Trent used to be situated at the top of Flash Lane with the London Road junction in /Trent Vale and italways had a queue stretching down the road, day and night.

You "northern enders" of the City don't know what you were missing!:hello:

Northern enders? Oh you mean around Burslem..the MOTHER TOWN? :)

Giannasi was the best ice cream..his daily roiund went on for hours as he criss crossed all the big estates and people queued on the pavement shivering in blizzards waiting for him to arrive for their daily cone, shell, cider lolly, chocolate man or tub (with bits and juice)

And the chippy on Norton estate was thee best..where else did they weigh the chips when you asked for 8p's worth (I remember the first time it happened to me) and let you bring your own pyrex dish to be filled with pudding, chips, peas and of course gravy.

Pubs - evergreens in cobridge - always good for a laugh and the ancient brit at stanfields, top pub and a top landlord rip

I spent a lot of time in both of them.I used to play pool for the Brit ( still got the trophies) in the early 80s.My mate used to be asst manager of Evergreens.
