I used to like the ABC in Hanley..first i went to i think...my brothe rhad explaned that a cinema is like a big TV...so I was expecting a stage with a TV on it. And the little one in Tunstall near the baths..saw Capricorn 1 there I recall

 

These multi screen out of town things lack character

That was the 'posh' pictures JA.Anyone remember the Ten Pin Bowling that used to be on TV on Sunday afternoon?Hence it was called the Cinebowl.Was the one in Tunstall Barber's Palace? I remember going to see Ben Hur at the Colliseum in Burslem.The snooker club is still there in that street.

Maddocks up Norton way who used to cut your ears

 

John's in Ball Green who opened really early (for the miners coming off the night shift I think). He was really fastidious and you could be in there for hours waiting for your brush/feather cut..I can still smell the Brylcreem and here him clipping away at 100mph.

 

And my Mum would sit in the seats behind telling him what to do "Just a brush cut" or "A bit more off the side"

 

i rememebr whe I was about 18 and had really long hair and turned up to have it lopped off.
