Spoke to Beast the other week. Don't think he'll be coming here as he could be heading Stateside for at least 18 months. The reason he's leaving Burnley is because he wants to play regular football and Burnley couldn't offer him that. He knows if he comes to Vale that he'll have to battle for the starting spot and might lose out if Neal is in the form he was last year (Athough he was confident as always that he's better than Neal!). He's got 2/3 years left before he retires and wants to play regularly. His wages will also be an issue, as Neal will be on nowhere near what Bri was on at Burnley.

 

I would suspect if he doesn't go to America that he would be looking for somewhere reasonably local as his family are settled and like living in Congleton. But because of our keeper situation I don't envisage him turning up at Vale, he'll go to a club in League 1 or 2 that needs a no.1.

Isnt it mainly defenders Vale need? Thought the 2 centre backs at yeovil were excellent in the play off semi final, hope Mickys got a couple in mind, got every faith in him to put a capable squad together before the first league game anyway.
