great result today again ground out a result at a tricky place and in bad weather too. closing on the gills who are having some right banana skin moments right now - ive been saying since the 6-2 rotherham result that we will finish top come may and i stick by that , i always raise a chuckle when my least favourite league 2 teams fall short = gills and rotherham - horrible teams and horrible fans

Werstayinup - I'm sure Rico will be wanting to score as professional pride will see him want to play better than Popey but I'm pretty sure he wont celebrate it too much if he does score. I wouldn't mind betting he'll be delighted if we get promoted.

 

Got huge respect for Rico and what he did whilst at the Vale.

 

I really hope he doesn't get booed and abused as this will fire him up even more, and he really doesn't deserve it after sticking with us through some really dark days. A little lighthearted banter and a round of applause from me.

not great, but even when we're not at our best we have goals in us. Vincent, Williamson and burge stood out for me. ref was terrible for both sides, not a clue. good to finally get my 12/13 campaign off to a winning start.

 

Don't believe that the phrase 'We'll score when we want' has ever been so true. Another game like Exeter, not much to write home about but comfortable in the end. Pitch didn't suit our style, seemed small and players struggled to keep their feet due to the conditions.

 

3 points and another good away day.

If were winning and things are going well late on I think he will get all the credit he deserves.

 

If its a tight game I don't think we should abuse him as we know he will bang the winner in and celebrate in front of chesterfield fans.

Mickey said his calf was tight but no problem. Think big Clayt was a hamstring so could be a bit more of a concern

Having seen the penalty on SSN I don't think that Shots can have too many complaints!

This was a poor quality game but given the appaling conditions you have to credit all the players on both sides for the effort they put in. There was little real football in the game but we took our chances well and that's all that counts.

 

Just one thing - how in the name of all that's holy does that ground get a safety certificate? They have a bliddy great tree growing in the middle of the path to the away seats. Only about 6 of the seats give you a view of the whole ground. The toilets are inadquate in the extreme - two urinals for the away blokes, two toilets with a seat and one without for the lasses. The refereshments are provided by a burger van. Worst of all though, the walk down to the away end is a serious hazard in daylight but going up those steps and through the monkey forest in the pitch dark when the ground is covered with wet leaves is a disaster waiting to happen. How do these clubs get away with it?
