We played 4 at the back at Luton and looked really dangerous. We've done it in the second half today and in the cup against Barnsley and ripped them both apart.

That's what we want to see. High press, high intensity, get our wingers running at people and we've got Stockley and Cole who know where the net is with the right service.

I'd bring Rico back now to have another option to run at teams as well.

We've got that win, we've got that bit of belief, we've got players with a bit of confidence again. We know the players have the quality. It was great to see Byers with a bit of cockiness and guile about him again. It just needs bringing out of them all now. Get the shackles off and lets have it.

Confidence is worth a goal start.

Lovely to see the smile on the faces of the players in front of the Bycars when the fifth went in. All of the goals in front of that stand...it must have been fantastic

Understand the starting 11 'cause Blackpool had got 4 wins in their last 5 games and confidence high, but once Blackpool went down to 10 men the two subs at half time were absolutely correct and the performance and goals showed it.

Not easy to play against 10 men so brill 2nd half performance by Vale.

First half we lacked ideas/creativity, so Rico back and a quality winger on loan in Jan are a minimum .

Bring on Barnsley, 4 losses in their last 6 games so a team not high on confidence and a winnable game. Win the Barnsley match and it's game on.

I would maybe understand the starting shape if it had worked at all this season but it hasn't so I don't 😁

In the second half when it all changed, did we just do what many on here had suggested.

Other side of the coin from the sending off, I was hacked off to continually see Blackpool players continually throwing themselves to the ground and getting the decision.

Then Devante chases the ball down, challenges their player who threw himself to the ground but for once the ref didn't blow, Devante takes the ball on, takes the right option to Byers and 2-1 to Vale, crucial goal.

Oh the irony  but just desserts for Vale.

I thought Honeyman's tackle on Johnson was worse than the one that saw the red card.

Strange feeling to sit here with a smile on my face as we have actually won and how nice it is. Had my doubts prior to the sending off but we were due some good fortune. Thought Ben Heneghan was immense and looks far better in a back 4 as does Humphreys Stockley ran his heart out and Devante looked back to his best. Mitch behind Hall looks perfect and they seem to link up so well.

It may be a false dawn but let's just soak it up tonight, unbeaten in 2026 !

Just back in - so haven't read upon comments.

Positives:

George Hall ripped them apart on right!
Ruthless in front of goal

Should give the players some belief/confidence - what we now need

Negative:

Unable to establish what has been worse. Watching Moore's style of football for 2 years or listening to Dave (Vale fan) on Praise & Grumble. Christ - you would have that we'd lost 5-1.

Incredible!

I know it was against 10 men but Christ what a second half.

Byers ran the midfield, Stockley was superb and to put that header away from there, Quality.

Hall and Curtis were first class, Curtis in his proper position is a decent footballer at this level.

Let’s all hope this is the start of something, We can do this! UTV.

No doubt been said elsewhere on here, but that was pretty damn enjoyable. Felt a really strange feeling to celebrate a few goals and a win. Could tell the players, especially Curtis, really enjoyed it too.

Enjoy your celebratory snifters all.

Ive got mixed feelings tonight absolutely delighted with a comprehensive victory.....BUT I am incandescent with Darren Moore he could have single handedly cost our club a place in the 1st Division with his pathetic attempt at tactics and substitutions, Smith showed we have the players to compete and I am even more annoyed Moore was kept in a job when anyone with a football brain could see he was winging it.

Not single handedly.

The owners have played a huge part with their dawdling. A huge part.

45 minutes against 10 men and you’ve gone all giddy…Enjoy the win🍾

Giddy or not MBE it's possible and a little confidence will go a long way to make it happen.

The Lionel Richie lookalike, who most say is quality, is utter garbage again.

This could easily be 4 or 5 by 5 o clock.

You got something right
