Latest rumour on twitter today is that Neil Critchley is being lined up as manager.

First spell at Blackpool was genius but his subsequent record at Villa, QPR and then back to Blackpool not so good - but win ratio pretty good.

Well, I finally saw a goal at the 10th game of asking, then another, then another, then another and another. At half time, because I'm now so hard wired to expect the worst and having been at the Wigan shambles against 10, I wouldn't have expected anything more than a hard fought draw at best. Fantastic second half and a long time missing feel good factor.

So playing players in their correct positions and to their strengths brings about results? Who knew...? Hall and Curtis had a field day, Byers ran the show without people getting in his way, Stockley was a beast. Still going to have to go some to get out of this but a couple more wins could reel a couple in and then it's twitchy bum time for them, kind of feels like we have nothing to lose now, more of that second half positivity please.

Also, listening to Stockley's interview on the way home sounded quite telling. He sounded a bit emotional and was very honest with how it was his first home start in the league and he was raring to go and really worked up, which you could see from his celebration as well. He was also the one that was roumured to have led the players meeting as well wasn't he? Something must have gone on there. Good to have him back.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t think they were much cop at all. If you compare them with 10 to how Mansfield played - fought and scrapped for everything (a bit too much in the end ironically) - they were poles apart, didn’t seem much fight in them at all. The point being, if they are ‘an average side’ then why can’t we put say 4 wins in on the bounce and at least give ourselves a fighting chance??

The three players whose form Moore ruined in his time were Curtis (nearly always played out of position), Paton (rarely played and then if he did play invariably out of position) and Chislett (as you say, bombed out). Close pals, and a bit laddish, they never seemed to get a fair crack of the whip. Just hoping that things change for Curtis and Paton because they have more than enough potential to help us out of this mess.

Football is an easy game complicated by people who make it more difficult. A radical thing happened in the second half today, players were played in their natural positions. Something which we've barely seen this season and look what happens? Blackpool were torn apart with skill, speed and passion. The red of course was a turning point but we've struggled against ten this season and at least Smith had the nous to change it at half time and not wait until later in the game. 

What's frustrating is that the fans, who it has been made out no nothing about the game, have been crying out for an end to the wingback system for weeks. It's still a mammoth task to survive but play like the second half for the rest of the season we will at least go down with a fight and even that looked a million miles away last week.

Curtis and Johnson, Hall and Clark. Nothing else makes sense to me on the wings until we see Gordon and Gabriel again.
