I thought we were a lot better today because we made positive substitutions when the game was there for the taking, and for all the criticism levelled at the current regime, Smith could have just sat on his arse knowing he's out of a job in a week or two's time and stuck with the same team.

Fair play he changed it, kept two up top, put two wingers on and went at them, and it worked. 

Stockley looked a far different player than he did at the start of the season, a constant threat. George Hall and Curtis changed the game and both were threats out wide. I was worried about the pace of Blackpool, but we nullified that, and Marvin Johnson looked much more able at dealing with him that Sam Hart did last year in the Bromley away game.

Yes, we only beat ten men, but you can only beat what's in front of you and hopefully a prospective new manager will have watched that and seen that these players can produce results if we play to their strengths.

No, that result was all down to the players. They got the chance to show what they can do when played correctly. Just like at Luton. Smith had the situation forced on him. He had to do something positive after the sending off. Do you really think he would have changed things if not for the sending off.

The Luton result has nothing to do with the Blackpool one. Smith ended up playing 442,with Curtis on one wing,not Waine. Moore has affected the confidence of the players...you could see how much the players enjoyed yesterday-smiles all round.

First half was terrible couldn’t keep a pass together defending was disappointing and disorganised. The counter attack before the red card was progress but 2nd half two subs hall and Curtis was a game changer. The pressure on the defenders was better, passing around was better up the top was great to watch. My lads first game watching the vale with a 5-1 win massive 3 points. Another 3 points please vale against Barnsley 🤞

Having read the FA regulations through I don't think there is any chance Blackpool's red will be rescinded. So therefore it was a red. It's the level of danger to the opposition player that determines its a red. He dived in straight at a player running straight at him. It was definitely a card and given the direction of momentum from both players a red was probably the correct decision.  Getting the ball is irrelevant under the regulations it was the level of danger the player caused to the opponent. Watching the incident back their player's initial reaction shows he knew he was at risk of going. 

The red changed the game. However,  Jamie Smith deserves credit for changing shape at halftime to take advantage of the extra man. No doubt helped by Blackpool changing their shape to what seemed a 5 1 3 for the first 15 minutes of the second half. 

Looking forward not sure this game tells us a lot. The big positives were that the players looked confident for the final 35 minutes for the first time in months and that the manager changed formations at the right time to affect the game. On the other side we won't play 10 men every week, nor see such a bizarre tactical reaction from a team in response to losing a man.

Thought Marvin Johnson looked a class above anyone else on the left and despite his age could still keep up with Imrey who is rapid. A player we really need to keep if we are to have any chance. Our best left wingback, leftback and left winger.

A bit of self respect and belief is restored.....

Beat Barnsley and we're back onto the packs coat tails.....

My bad! Too much booze befuddled my brain. From where I was sat, alongside many others there, it was an obvious red card(sorry, not penalty). Their player went in recklessly with studs up and his boot off the ground. It was clear to us why the ref gave a red card and the tv monitors back that up.

One thing we cannot dispute is the ref gave their player a red card. Some people think it was deserved some not,let's be honest, it certainly changed the game.  Let's also  not forget we have had more than our fair share of red cards given against us, about time things started  to even themselves out in our favour.

Just got in after an all nighter celebrating our momentous New Year’s Day win.

Got into a bit of a messy argument towards the end of the party though, while I can accept we are almost nailed on for a play off place I think the automatics are beyond us… my mates didnt agree but hey… the effect of beer on rationale should underestimated.
