An earlier post was referencing an interview with Stockley. I cannot find it so could you please let me know where it is or better still put a link to it.

Thanks in advance.

Gain 3 points a month would be sufficient, win the 6 pointer a big step.

I put on here last week that despite the doom and gloom and most of us thinking that we are down, get the new manager appointment right(someone who will play attacking football, maybe using wingers),as we showed yesterday although against 10 men we attacked with purpose.

IF we can manage to be 5 points away from 5th/6th bottom after 36 games then we have a great chance of turning the impossible possible.

Onwards and Upwards

Having read the FA regulations through I don't think there is any chance Blackpool's red will be rescinded. So therefore it was a red. It's the level of danger to the opposition player that determines its a red. He dived in straight at a player running straight at him. It was definitely a card and given the direction of momentum from both players a red was probably the correct decision.  Getting the ball is irrelevant under the regulations it was the level of danger the player caused to the opponent. Watching the incident back their player's initial reaction shows he knew he was at risk of going.

The red changed the game. However,  Jamie Smith deserves credit for changing shape at halftime to take advantage of the extra man. No doubt helped by Blackpool changing their shape to what seemed a 5 1 3 for the first 15 minutes of the second half.

Looking forward not sure this game tells us a lot. The big positives were that the players looked confident for the final 35 minutes for the first time in months and that the manager changed formations at the right time to affect the game. On the other side we won't play 10 men every week, nor see such a bizarre tactical reaction from a team in response to losing a man.

Thought Marvin Johnson looked a class above anyone else on the left and despite his age could still keep up with Imrey who is rapid. A player we really need to keep if we are to have any chance. Our best left wingback, leftback and left winger.

I hope whoever comes in extends Johnsons contract

He s a good player no doubt… but we have a lot of injury prone defenders already and we should think very carefully about employing another one. Let’s see if he can play in 80% of games between now and the end of the season without picking up an injury before we start offering contracts.

Hi contract is up this month (club confirmed that to someone in a reply on Twitter yesterday) so not wanting to speak for @werstayinup I think it’s more about keeping him to the end of this season than getting him nailed down long term.

He’s far from a injury prone player.

He played 41 games last season. 29

games the season before and another 41 the season before that

Marvin Johnson was my MOTM yesterday up until he got replaced. He has an absolute wand of a left foot. He'd clearly been told to whip the ball in as frequently as possible.

He laid on Stockley for the absolute sitter he missed before Blackpool scored & then whipped in several more great deliveries.

He is a really good player for this level, despite his age. Only needs half a yard & can deliver balls with pace & shape. If we can keep hold of him until the end of the season & he can stay fit, that would be a real bonus for us. They couldn't handle him yesterday.

On another note, George Hall is by far & away our most valuable asset at the club. Played in the right formation & in the right positions, he could be the difference between us going down & staying up. We're lucky to have him, he's a class above.

Fair enough I thought he was on a contract until the end of the season…

Agree on both points

Yer I thought he was already in a contract till the end of the season… I agree we should offer him a new contract when his current contract runs out this month just not a long term one… he was without a club for a reason though when we signed him and as good a player as he is I don’t want us lumbered with any more injury prone full backs than we already have.

Yes,sorry i should of said that i meant until the end of the season and not a 2.5yr deal

Maybe review at the end of the season dependent on what league we are in and how many more times he plays

You are the only person on here who thinks that it was a definite red card which makes your statement look even sillier that you know exactly what the Blackpool player was thinking

Not the only one.

I ll give Smith some credit on this I like to keep an option of pace on the bench to bring on as the game opens up they get more room to exploit. Also with Halls injury record I think it’s the right thing to bring him on around 55 mins rather than start him through a 90 min league 1 slog fest. I also think his best position is out wide rather than an attacking midfielder but as the old adage goes if you ve got pace you ve got a chance.
