Sorry Darren, I forgot to add that I would expect the Wimbledon v Crewe game to end in a draw and Wimbledon to win their other game in hand.

Hope that clears it up for you 😉

And in this modern world of ours, can you be sure your aunty hasn't got balls ?

Steady on mate , you'll be called negative

Not sure if I’ve missed a mention elsewhere, but a special mention to Nathan for the block and diversion on their forward’s shot, dead centre about 12 yards out.

Watched the ball every second, timed his intervention to the instant, and kept us in the game, which was the springboard for our excellent comeback.

After being out of favour with Darren for a big chunk of the season, Nathan is doing everything he can to make himself a regular starting choice, and it’s great to see.

Well played lad.

Loved seeing Smudge have a little celebration to himself after that intervention.

Not seen many exciting games at Vale park this season. That certainly was, plenty of shots, plenty of chances in the 2nd half, overall it’s how you wanted the team to respond after going down. Yes, the first half was pretty poor but if we had responded like that when going behind in many other games, we’d probably still be top.

The problem being you appear to have swapped your rose tinted specs for a pair of Stevie Wonders old shades.😎

The issue is 3-4-3. It’s negative in the extreme.

Watch Man Utd if you don’t believe me.

Fine away from home, cue games against Arsenal, City & Liverpool where they get results because the onus is on the home team.

Watch them at home vs Newcastle, Bournemouth and, for 75 mins, Southampton (on target to set an unwanted EPL record low points target). They look absolutely dreadful. And this is Man Utd who has spent nearly £1bn on players in the last 5 years.

So imagine what this looks like in L2 if you get it wrong. And I give you performances like Walsall….absolute non-event.

In my opinion you need a very certain group of players to make that system look good. We certainly don’t have ball-playing CB’s or an N’Golo Kante-type (i.e. lung busters) in midfield which are pre-requisites for me.

What we did do well 2nd half was control the midfield much better, play quicker and more one-touch down the right, got balls into Stockley as a focal point and aggressively press on the breakdown giving them little time to build out of get any kind of control. For a change, the subs cane at the right time and were all good.

Personally I don’t mind the formation but feel we lack a ball carrier with pace to do it well.

When Byers and Garrity played as the central midfield pair 343 it looked OK.

That’s why I feel we need a Benecio replacement in the transfer window as a plan b or c.

Starting a few games wud help 😁👌

Stockley and Tolaj should start. Hackford and Umolu off the bench. Paton hasn't scored in open play in the league. I'm not sure why people are so keen on him. If he wasn't a character no one would be bothered.

An interesting stat from the radio was that was the first time we've won this season after conceding the first goal.

You think any post slagging off the manager is a "cracking post".

For Christ's sake don't take over ANOTHER thread. We've won, let's enjoy it.

He's got enthusiasm and he clearly wants to do well does Paton. I don't think he's been given a fair crack in a formation that gets the best our of him but having said that, it does show the huge difference between the Scottish Championship and this league. He was probably one of the best players in that league but doesn't quite look up to it in our league. He's one of those who you really want to do well but I just don't think he's quite got it. His free kicks show that he has some technical ability but he has to take his chance when he gets it. Needs to score a couple from the bench.

a difficult hour of football which quite frankly the sooner i forget about the better. followed by a response which was decent and won us the game. Headley is some player we have now.  all you can do is be happy about the result onto chesterfield and another huge away game.

I think his link up play is excellent. Reminds me of Politic... great level of skill but will never fit into a DM system.

If Moore can get us playing the same attacking and aggressive way in the 2nd half every game, I would be back onside with him.

Paton hasn't been given the chance to show what he can do. Look how Tolaj looks a different player now he's playing in his natural position.  If Paton leaves without being given that chance Vale will lose a terrific asset, and a valuable one too.
