Goals and shots. Absolute madness.

That was a roller coaster

when we finally got the team on the pitch we probably should have started with it was very entertaining

One thing that bugs me is not leaving anyone up when defending corners - I don’t know whether there’s a theory that if all 11 are in our box we might get in the way ( don’t see any better defensive tactics) but if we do win the ball it just easily comes back again because there’s no outlet.

We had it last season, Flitcroft first, then certain players, then Crosby, then finally Carol and Kevin 😂 Luckily the season ended before Carol and Kevin chipped off 🤣

Flitcroft  hardly needs mentioning . If he’d stayed , we’d be National League . Certain players needed binning .Crosby was way out of his depth , in my opinion . Awful manager. Carol and Kevin went through a very tough season but spent the money during the Summer , so fair play to them . Water under the bridge now anyway.

Says the guy who a few weeks ago said that he is never attending a Vale match again whilst Moore is in charge

Fundamentally people got overexcited either by our summer business or the winning run and have reached a point of expectation where they can’t just enjoy a 4th tier win for its own merits.

It’s got to be dominant, with minimal mistakes and consistent attacking threat. Anything to the contrary and it’s boos and criticism.

I’ve had and continue to have some serious worries with Moore but sometimes you just have to be enjoy the wins and being in the top 3 when it arrives.

I don’t agree with that.

The team have been excellent away from home, except a handful of bad performances however our home games we mainly looked devoid of attacking ideas in a lot of the games. We have not looked like a side capable of doing what we did today for the last 30 minutes where we play positive football and applied a sustained period of pressure.

For a club who have spoken openly about promotion it’s not good enough to just sit against every opposition we play and look like the away team. That’s the frustration. Nothing to do with dominating a game or making mistakes.

The team fully deserved a chorus of boos at halftime and equally deserve the plaudits for showing a lot of character 2nd half where the attacking play and intensity was probably the best of the season.

DM also deserves some credit for changing it around although I think there needs to be a review of how players are prepared mentally pre game. The players didn’t look up for it at kick off.

Not fit to lace Kevin Francis boots. Total donkey. Him and the lad who got sent off were having a set too as he trudged off after his red.

Yes, what was that all about.

Was at Derby in the Cup in 90 when Francis scored his first - of what seemed a million more for Stockport - against us 🤣

So pleased to get the win today but that referee was dreadful.

Thought the new Huddersfield signing was great, as was Ben, Mitch too.

I’m still worried about our defensive first mindset, it was costing us in the first half. When we get on the front foot we can actually score more goals. GD could be very important towards the end of the season and we really need to show the attacking impetus like in the second half to start building it up. It’s too poor right now to be confident going into the promotion race, IMO - whether that’s playoffs or auto.

Im hoping we can find a settled side, midfield and strike duo because that could really help us get momentum and go on a run. I do think some of the players struggle being rotated so much.

Not seen any synopsis of the match, only seen the score sequence. At home and again having to come frome behind twice says it all. Fook off Moore absolute charlatan as a manager !!!!!!

Alas what?

Certainly a game of two halves today, although I don’t think the first half was as disastrous as some are making out.

Moore got the starting XI wrong initially. I’d highlighted earlier in the week that Lowe should be dropped, especially for a home game. Similarly, Hackford, while useful away, isn't the right fit for a home match. Thankfully, Moore made the necessary changes at halftime, and we looked a much stronger, more balanced side after the break.

Clark and Headley were exceptional once again, and it seems we’ve finally found our permanent wing-backs. They were key to turning the game around.

All in all, a deserved three points following a much-improved second half.

That’s now two wins in a row, and with Chesterfield struggling, there’s no reason why we can’t extend the run and make it three.

Wimbledon at home last game I remember. I think you’re spot on. Regardless, our defensive football could be worth a point less or worse at the end of the season given how tight and competitive it is below Walsall right now.

Being happy with just the wins, unless we have a cushion on the chasers, I think we’re right to be expecting a bit more, especially at home.

Damned if you do. Damned  if you don’t.

Newport were brave and left 3 players on corners which left us holding 4 back but the big downside is the amount of room players have to make a run in the box. We took full advantage of that with Garrity goal.

Bring everyone back and there very little space in the box to attack but no outlet if you win it. Our problem is we don’t have many players who could protect the ball and carry it at speed to make it worthwhile.
