I don’t agree with that.

The team have been excellent away from home, except a handful of bad performances however our home games we mainly looked devoid of attacking ideas in a lot of the games. We have not looked like a side capable of doing what we did today for the last 30 minutes where we play positive football and applied a sustained period of pressure.

For a club who have spoken openly about promotion it’s not good enough to just sit against every opposition we play and look like the away team. That’s the frustration. Nothing to do with dominating a game or making mistakes.

The team fully deserved a chorus of boos at halftime and equally deserve the plaudits for showing a lot of character for the 2nd half where the attacking play and intensity was probably the best of the season.

DM also deserves some credit for changing it around although I think there needs to be a review of how players are prepared mentally pre game. The players didn’t look up for it at kick off.

The issue is 3-4-3. It’s negative in the extreme.

Watch Man Utd if you don’t believe me.

Fine away from home, cue games against Arsenal, City & Liverpool where they get results because the onus is on the home team.

Watch them at home vs Newcastle, Bournemouth and, for 75 mins, Southampton (on target to set an unwanted EPL record low points target). They look absolutely dreadful. And this is Man Utd who has spent nearly £1bn on players in the last 5 years.

So imagine what this looks like in L2 if you get it wrong. And I give you performances like Walsall….absolute non-event.

In my opinion you need a very certain group of players to make that system look good. We certainly don’t have ball-playing CB’s or an N’Golo Kante-type (i.e. lung busters) in midfield which are pre-requisites for me.

What we did do well 2nd half was control the midfield much better, play quicker and more one-touch down the right, got balls into Stockley as a focal point and aggressively press on the breakdown giving them little time to build out of get any kind of control. For a change, the subs cane at the right time and were all good.

I would assume the players know the starting lineup the day before the game so can’t see it being like that. Ruari seems a passionate lad but also comes across as being about the team. Without knowing when the Hackford recall clause expires it wouldn’t shock me if once that is done we agree a loan for Ruari even if just short term.

I'm not sure how much weight to put on this, but Scottish sites are reporting that Dundee United are looking to get Paton on loan for the rest of the season, and that Vale are supportive so as to give him game time.

How he handled that beanpole sub was an absolute delight.

Reminiscent of his treatment of the guy from Mansfield that was sent off in the PO final.

Well that was a game of two halves. 1st half we were all over the place defensively and the two wing backs were playing too deep for me. Saying that we had some good forward play and Hackford really should have scored at least two or passed to others who had an easier chance. 2nd half with the changes put us on the front foot and we gradually took hold of the game and completely dominated play. Can't remember Newport being in our penalty area 2nd half. We were unlucky not to score 4 or 5 and that save from Stockleys header was unbelievable.  Garrity, Smith, John, Mitch, Headley Tolaj, and Stockley, Harper and Sang all had good games and should be now starting every week.

Moore is Rooney, lampard esc, good  players in their day but as managers they're fooking unless.

Liked the look of Bobby Kamwa for Newport. Would tear teams apart on our spacious pitch. Did very well against Kyle John who is no mug. Held the ball well & a turn of pace.

It's plausible I guess. They're flying in the SPL so would be a good environment to go into I guess. Think they have Louis Moult playing for them. Suppose if the likes of Iacovitti and Uche can get signed in that league some of the clubs that are not the two Glasgow clubs would fall over themselves for Ruari. If that were to happen I'd imagine it'd be an end of the window deal.

He's addressing Yorick's skull.... this is what they want, cultural discordance after a home win...😄👍
