Jean absolutely bang on speaking some sense on P&G.

I thought Moore got the team horribly wrong first half. Plenty of teams play 3 at the back with one who is predominantly a fullback; never seen a team use 2 fullbacks and one centrehalf. It also created a problem at set plays as a centrehalf generally performs a different role at corners. Garrity, Lowe and Croasdale offer plenty of effort but no variety in midfield and Lowe is getting less mobile each week. We could easily have gone in losing 4 1.

The 3 substitutes did well, although the game really changed with the introduction of Sang. We seem to be getting into of a cycle where the bench plays better than the starters. That may be because he has too many players and can't work out the best combinations. He's also got a squad where players are suited to different formations.

The good news we are still 3rd, the bad we won't be when teams have played their games in hand. Massive game on Saturday. I'm not sure what the best 11 is, or the best formation to play with our squad; I've even less idea what 11 Moore will magic up at Chesterfield!

Amazing when you play a run at teams formation at home .

Second half was really good

Clark John Headley Run boys and Tolaj and Stockley lovely play

This is what we want at home

Very Very pleased today

I go be entertained iwasand you can tell when Vale play well everyone in the ground gets up and gets behind them

Feed the passion

Feed the crowd

Win games

Brilliant

If Carlsberg did 2nd half performances!

Funny old game, but hey ho we won and scored 3 showing great spirit to come back from behind. Twice.

Hopefully Big D will finally realise we need a settled and proactive team playing. He certainly splits the fans.

On one hand you could say he's totally blagged his way to get us in the autos 😂

Or he's just playing division 2 football and kind of knows what hes doing 😂

No idea tbh but 3 points is 3 points and we had some great individual performances out there today. We deserved the win today imo.

On to the next (and 9 changes to the second half team of today)

UTV 💪

Our set-piece record is becoming alarming. I think Stockley starting will help a lot with that, but if you take away the Grimsby debacle we've conceded 5 set piece goals (two today, one at Bradford, one against Walsall, one against Cheltenham) in our last 8.

The good news is that we very rarely concede anything from note from open play. Again, excluding Grimsby, in our last 8 we've conceded 7 goals and they've all either been set-pieces or 30 yard screamers (Cook and Sterry).

Sort out the set-pieces and bar wonder goals we don't really give up much. That's a massive bonus.

Best 35 minutes all season! Not just that but very encouraging going forward. So many positives all over the pitch.

We're coming!!!

As said game of two half’s! Just so relieved to get the win still don’t know how didn’t score more. A few lessons learned I am sure ! A vital three points happy days subs really changed the game. When you look at our bench you always feel there’s a few decent players there. Let’s hope we can go on a run now.

Good luck with that.

Nathan smith appreciation post. Been everything we have been missing no nonsense. Warrior.

Loved singing hes one of our own today, sounded like the whole ground was at it

Much better second half. They were atrocious defensively - you could tell first half, and I was frustrated we weren’t putting them under enough pressure. Second half we pressured them more and they caved.

Lowe wasn’t anywhere near it and Hart had a stinker, subs massively improved us. Hackford very frustrating as well. Did well to get into the positions he did but he was incredibly wasteful. Again right decision to bring him off. Smith struggled first half I thought but was much better second.

Standouts for me were both wing backs, Tolaj, and Croasdale. Subs all did well too.

Just a bit frustrating we didn’t turn up until going behind. If we’d started by attacking them we’d have turned them over.

Just back....

First 45 minutes we looked like a mid table team void of ideas.

The introduction  of Sang, Harper and Stockley suddenly made us look like a top 7 outfit, however I thought Newport bringing Hudlin on helped us more than them !

Mitch C was the clear man of the match.
