Doubt it. Tweet from Baggers indicates they’ve left the ground.

Would have liked to see the game he played out but knew the risks coming down today. Hope Reading fans can get their club back. Let’s not forget we were there once.

On a positive note at least we kept a clean sheet 🤣

It wasn't too long since we were in trouble shouting black and gold until its sold outside lorne Street and showing red cards won't do anything, to get a poisonous owner out of the club you need to hit the owner where it hurts,  I.e their pockets they'll get fined for this, and I guarantee if that persists every week they won't stay very long that is a given.

Listen I'm not saying it should be a given at every club to take such action if you are unhappy with the owner but if you feel that strongly as a collective group then that's one way to do it unfortunately today we were  a martyr in their strategy. 

Also they made the EFL look like buffoons is it not clear yet proper checks need to be made so that they have the fans best interest at heart, I'm not saying that's easily provable but tighter checks and interview processes surely would go a long way to rectify this.

You're talking about anowner who hasn't paid staff over Christmas etc and the fans have had enough, and that's just listening to fans on a radio station  - if I was sat in a pub there would be many more stories and perspectives. You can tell there is a big passion for their club.  Does the club still even own their stadium?, Does that sound familiar?!

Yet again,  travelling valiants sorry that the game wasn't completed but enjoy your weekend and hope you do get reimbursed.

Disagree with those saying it'd create a precedent if we got the points. If this is replayed then there's only one club who gets an advantage and it's the club who have caused this. Mid week we may take 250. Totally unfair.

I completely agree and I'm not sure fans have fully realised what it means. People wanted successful business men running their clubs.

If you are a successful business man running Reading with 120 acre training pitch in Berkshire currently valued at 41 million you may decide at some point running a football club isn't worth the aggravation. Sadly the smart business decision is sell the 3 young players bigger clubs are looking at this week. Get what you can for Harvey Knibbs and Sam Smith. Then sit on the 41 million training pitch and the ground (can't find a valuation on that but as a minimum another 10 million). We were lucky that Carol was prepared to pay roughly what Smurthwaite would have got for the real estate, otherwise there would have been no Port Vale and some shiny new houses opposite the park.

To be fair to their owner until recently he has been putting up to 20 million a year into the club. The problem is they have been losing up to 34 million a year. The hope seemed to be reaching The Premiership. Once that failed he seems to have stopped putting money in. He'll lose some of the money he's put in regardless but I suspect he won't sell for less than the land is worth. Who in their right mind will pay 50 million for a business losing 20 million a year. Sadly the type of person looking to pay 50 million for a business is either insane or looking to move money from offshore to make it legal. Alternatively Barretts get two shiny new housing estates in the South East

I think the Reading owner is also trying to cash in on all their players now as well 

If their fans are saying they will do this all the time now then i guess the EFL will have them playing games behind closed doors,its always the same though isn't it fans and the club get punished for poor owners that the EFL allow to run clubs

So, does anyone know for sure what happens from here. Has the EFL or the clubs confirmed - is it a replay, do we get a point each, do Vale get all 3...??

For me it’s sad but given the Value of there training ground for housing, he’s decided to recover his losses there . Absolute Eric hunt .

The supporters club say they will update when they know anything as its up to the club now to liaise with the EFL

To me we should be awarded the points and Reading fined.

A replay behind close doors incurs all of our costs again and Reading get another chance at 3 points.I don’t see how that’s fair.

A replay is not punishment to the club for failing to fulfil the fixture and doesn’t send the right message, fans are clearly going to continue to disrupt home fixtures until the club is sold, which won’t be in the foreseeable.

I read there are 5 potential buyers but none prepared to show proof of funds so looks a lot of tyre kickers at present.

Protescan’t go unpunished I do however fully support Reading fans efforts to force change with protests by any means to get national attention because media coverage has been woeful highlighting Readings plight.  
 

Sometimes the results of your team short term are irrelevant when you face the fight of your clubs long term future. Something I think all Vale fans can relate to.

Dunno if this sheds any light - the precedent of Blackpool and Huddersfield.   In this case, it was an end of season match, and the EFL said no replay. Had a look at the EFL regs online, and they are labyrinthine and not easy to navigate.

How the hell does a football club lose £34 million a year?! That is insanity.

perhaps easier to agree with a point each when it's the last day of the season as this was and the implications for other clubs were known.  If this happened in this game between us and Reading and we either made play offs or stayed up by one point the displaced club would cry foul as we may have lost this game.  Same of course for Reading's eventual position.

Must be a replay.  Too many future issues could come into play.  A mid table dead rubber on the last day - different matter
