What a player for us over the last 6-7 years. I cant believe Aspin benched him for so long. All those assists and consistency on the right flank. Always full of energy and graft. I feel his performances only ever dipped once which weirdly was in the promotion season. A good showing this season just gone in league one. One of my favourite players of recent times.

Despite all that and putting the sadness to one side i am ok with his departure. As he said in his interview everything comes to an end eventually. I think we now have an opportunity for a complete rebuild for league one.

I think the reasons he joined barrow might be slighlty geographical but it's telling he has signed for a mid table league 2 side. Either he didnt have league 1 offers, or if he did maybe he didnt think he would be first choice? Or no other league one side offered 2 years? Lots to ponder but i think his destination might be his level across the next 2 years.

Anyway i feel bad for focusing on that. Thank you Dave Worrall for the effort and performances. A top top top top top player and the best of recent times.

Absolutely gutted he's left the Vale, one of only a few Lge 1 quality players we had, top  guy and wants to go into coaching and has at least another 2 years as a player  left in him. He gives the impression he wants to stay at vale so why can't we offer him a contract the same or better than Barrow?

This makes DF/AC's job of recruitment more difficult as we need yet another Lge 1 quality player, not someone who can just run around. Why are we losing our most highly skilled players?

Good luck Wozza, you've been a bright light at Vale Park over the last 6-7 years.

There's an argument for a 2 year deal, morphing into player coach. And then if not up to League one for 24/25 season he concentrates on coaching whilst retaining a squad number.

Dave Worrall is/was my favourite Vale player, however, he is extremely consistent and works hard but he hasn't set the world alight this year and the formation we play relies heavily on Wingbacks, he will be 33 at the start of next season and he isn't going to get any better, so whilst it is very sad to see him go, we just can't be offering him a 2 year contract

I would like to know where the person who started the absolutely ludicrous 'Salford and Stockport have offered Worrall a 3 year deal' rumour, is today. Because it's finally being ridiculed, which should have happened months ago

Lost 2 of our most technical players in Wilson and Worrall. Added to that Tom Pett. That's 3 key players to be replaced. And that's without recruiting to improve other players/positions. Big holes to fill no pressure on the recruitment!

His best days are clearly behind him but will still do a fine job in League Two. If you're a Barrow fan you can only be made up with that signing. A good lower league player and a genuinely top bloke and model pro.

Look forward to us hopefully signing someone out wide with a bit of pace though, I have to say.
