Bycars Memories.....

Some great stuff here. Here's just a few of mine (I'll avoid duplication of the obvious ones if possible)

Good/great

Hull in the FA Cup .. Kevin Kennerley hat trick

Grimsby 4-3 after being 3-0 down

Aspo goal v Grimsby many years later

June 3rd 1989 v Gas

Tankard v Huddersfield in the Cup

Bad/shocking

Vale 4 Hereford 0 half time League Cup first leg. Eventually lost 5-4 at Gay Meadow!

John Connaughton v Walsall FA Cup replay

Enfield in the FA Cup ... subsequent humiliation on the 9 o'clock news.

Watching the penalty shoot out against Arsenal

Bogies early goal that beat Stoke

Watching Jonnie Jeffers beat 6 or 7 players in one go game after game and chanting his name at the top of my voice.

Aspins goal against Watford and his celebration afterwards.

Now it's two and a bit hours to kick off it's hitting home that this will be my last time after 48 years of going in the Bycars.

Taken by my dad as a nipper. Then taking my son.

Some amazing times.

Probably because it's so recent I'm going to go for the Whitfield goal v Chesterfield. I actually thought I was going to cry. Far better things than that. Stoke, Spurs, Everton etc etc but that moment nearly did me in I was an emotional wreck.

Onwards and upwards and I look forward to my new seat in the Hamil end next season.

Nice to see the bycars pretty full on it's last day as a home end.

I assume they were nearly all vale fans?   Seen the goals on the local south west news,  seemed to be all vale.

A few randomers sat near to me who I've never seen in my life. Definitely not Plymouth fans.

Strange but welcome that we had 8000 home fans for a dead rubber.

Someone I used to work with in Staffordshire has a friend who is a Tractor Boy. He went today to throw his voice behind the Vale. That’s the mentality of decent football fans.

We have “randomers” next to us most games.  Perversely I think the fact that many free tickets are given away in there has had a negative effect on the atmosphere at times.  Equally many of these are kids and young families, hopefully future Season Ticket holders.

Me joining in with signing "cheat, cheat, cheat" after the diving little cheat Michael Owen dived and got a penalty. My little 8 year old sister only came to watch to see him and was a bit upset...

Still don't quote get why they're closing it. Surely in terms of safety, the plod would rather have away team busses parked right behind the stand with a bar next to it, next to a main road - like on Hamil Road. Rather than having away fans milling around up the alleyway behind the Bycars
