Potentially great news coming out of the club. A collaboration between us and the council to create a "vale park campus"

Looks good, there had been talk/rumours about Vale purchasing Dimensions IIRC so guess it was in reference to these plans, hopefully it is something that can benefit both the club and the local community and would see improvements to our facilities for training etc.

Based on absolutely nothing, I get the feeling this is going to be a new semi-synthetic pitch in exchange for renting it out 6 days a week kind of deal.

Silly question here, what is Sproson park? The training pitch?

A few weeks ago Sport England which is a kind of govt agency declared in their database of public facilities that some grass pitches on Bycars Road are now to known as Sproson Park. I thought they meant the Dimensions pitches, which I've never played on but look to be astroturf, however the Stoke council planning portal designates that empty land with the copse of trees behind the leisure centre as Sproson Park.

With how they've been squeezed in everywhere else I'm surprised that 28 acres of land at the back isn't low cost newbuilds yet. There's development potential though to benefit the entirety of SOT through Vale.

Just had a look on the council portal. Barratt tried to build 282 properties a few years ago but it got denied. Persimmmon have currently got a planning bid in for 266. 266 new households on the doorstep isn't a bad thing when you're trying to get kids into supporting the club. No recent applications from Vale, yet.
