It all looks a bit messy. Seems like a messy system that takes some managing. Especially when a number of key players are returning from injury (too many), and you move up a league...and have too few strikers (the most sought after)

We must be somewhere in the pecking order of league one clubs, so there will be players available at some point.

I assume we'll sign them when we reach our level.

It's a nightmare for supporters, management and players. Not necessarily in that order 😊

Must be exhausting.

The question was "can you name players signed by teams with a similar budget who you think would improve us". Every one of them would be an improvement on Tommy McD shoehorned in up front.

Sad but true. We should not be throwing a young lad in. But needs must because we haven’t been able to land anyone up front yet.

It could have turned out so differently; 12 months ago he overwhelmingly won our player sponsorship, there was talk of massive Brazil flags being created etc............................ such a shame all round, as I personally believe there is a really good goalkeeper hidden beneath all the madness.

Volcano has become a Vale Cult Hero but for the wrong reasons - just can't seem to stay on the pitch for 90 minutes.

So you would have anybody at all including a midfielder Keilor Dunn, who have the same score rate as Tommy McD and pay them a lot of money in the meantime.....Foolhardy in my mind.

Foolhardy is getting to the second game of the season with a squad no where near ready. Any of those players would be very good L1 options in my mind.

No, probably a year with an option and the opportunity to play at a higher level than he currently finds himself. If Bradford have given him a 3 year deal and the chance to play in front of a big crowd he may still have been swayed.

I can’t fathom, and believe me I’ve tried, why fans, yourself included by the look of it, think we’ve simply left signing players until the 11th hour by choice.  Is that what you think, because that’s what you’re saying.

I honestly think many fans, familiar maybe with walking into a shop, or these days browsing the internet, and placing an item of their choice into their basket, somehow think signing a player is no different.
