Saturday's Red Card Protest

Bede

Recommended Posts

I didn't accept a red letter notice yesterday and got abuse off the person trying to give it to me. You know I have got lots of other more serious stuff to worry about than Port Vale and living out of area I haven't been following this day to day. So to me this an annoying piece of litter this dude was trying to give to me.

So I do get that from looking at the protest at least 75% want Smurf replaced. And there is plenty of valid reasons for that. But his last big mistake was appointing Aspin and most supporters, me included, thought that was a good decision. Hindsight etc.

I feel the club can survive this season and Askey is a good appointment. So if this proves to be the case I will probably give another season ticket a chance.

I think it is fair to say the supporters missing yesterday were a bigger concern and therefore a change in ownership is likely needed to get them back. Protests need to stay in bounds.

What do you mean, "in bounds?"

His last big mistake was not accepting Carol and Kevin's offer for the club. He has also made several big mistakes since appointing Aspin.

Today’s protest got a good mention and a nice photo, in the BBC’s league football summary EFL: Subs sent off and a 13-team relegation battle among things you may have missed http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/47501715

Not so happy with the reporting of it though - 3000 given out and "scores of fans held up red cards". Scores? There was more than that in the Bycars!!

His last big mistake is most certainly one that you, me or anybody knows nothing about. Such is the shady nature of the mans dealings.

He must go.

Entitled to your opinion Warren but I feel as though you're ignorant to the concerns protestors have for the club. Do you really think his last mistake was appointing Aspin. Why do you think fans are protesting against him? I suggest you read up on everything. There are stickied threads with links to the black and gold Vale for sale pages. All is listed there.

But, just off the top of my head, mistakes since Aspin was appointed, include; 3 disastrous transfer windows. Lying about 400k to spend. Turning down millions to take the club off his hands, why? Steering the club to 2 relegation battles directly as a result of his actions.

They're pretty fundamental mistakes, and show an unbelievable level of incompetence, and / or malice.

Also, given the content of the flyer pleaded with fans to accept the right of people not to protest, I'm surprised that you were abused by someone handing the flyer out. I'm sure if you were to let the organisers know where this occurred they could pinpoint who the individual was. Maybe they could then give their version of events?

Shame if this happened as you're claiming, considering the overwhelming support the protests had and the lack of similar claims from non protestors.

One last thing...75%??? I think images of the protest would suggest otherwise.
