Now there's an appointment I would imagine the pressure will come off Smurthwaite until we see how the team perform. A few bad results though and the gloves will come off.

If he has to put as much of his own money into the club as he claims,

the idea of him hanging on and not cutting his losses doesn't pass a sense check. After all, it's not as though there's another Jordan Hugill in the pipeline worth waiting for.

 

I would have to guess that the club still has some sort of value, or purpose, for him.

 

But he is quite happy to gamble with the clubs future which has if we were relegated would lower any future price he puts on it.

I believe the last Hugill payment is due or been paid so by not spending the 400k in January could mean he is thinking about riding off into the sunset with his booty in his @rse pocket.

Most on here are the committed anti Smurthwaite brigade, and while I don't disagree I'm sure the majority of fans will be waiting to see how the side perform under John Askey before committing to demonstrating for Smurthwaite's removal.

 

There's also the small matter of who would replace him. To the best of my knowledge none of the potential suitors have any more to spend on the club than Smurthwaite, especially if they had to meet his Fantasy Island valuation first.

 

Only if all this fails will we see any general campaign to remove Smurthwaite.

REP, given your methodology for valuing a football club is “whatever the owner wants for it”... how do you think today’s appointment, which in your own words shows Smurthwaite has failed to learn his lessons, affects the valuation?

 

Do you think it’s gone up a bit, or do you think Smurthwaite thinks it’s gone down a bit? Does it depend on how many glasses of wine he has had? Or how much fun he has been having with the marketing department on a certain day?

 

I’m interested because you lied earlier and said I never have an answer to who the viable alternatives are... where in reality I always say the viable alternatives will come when Norman values the club properly.

I was just putting an idea out there with the original post, no one suggested being nice to Norman or even said he was liked just some sort of mediation between fans and owner and lets face it he owns the club, its fact.

 

Protests are fine if its your thing, the last uprising we had didn’t go well so why not use an alternative.

 

It’s difficult to find many on here to discuss anything with out aimless ranting.

Still nobody has said besides protests we get rid.

Saying the time has come, time for action, going to sort him , mean absolutely nothing just hot air.

 

The fact that someone on the thread suggested REP may be up for banning just because he sticks up for himself is a joke.
