Aspin close to leaving the Vale ?? Staying

Aspin said if the fans don't want him, he might as well go. I wish NS had that level of integrity.

Aspin is obviously frustrated that once again in a transfer window he is not securing his first choice targets. That is NSs fault.

It doesn't matter who the manager is if we can't attract better players.

If he could get the home form right (2 points from the last fifteen) then I think all would want him to stay but 3,500 supporters only attend home games and we are leaving depressed after most games having been bored to death and a bad result to boot. What happened to ‘Fortress Vale Park’?

In answer to the question, then no, not really a good time to change manager.

I think it’s 50/50 that we’ll still be in the Football League anyway. So keep him or replace him, I don’t actually think it will make much difference.

A good result today, but if Aspin is wondering why fans are against him, I’d suggest he:-

1. Looks at the videos from our last half-dozen games

2. Look at some of the bewildering formations/line-ups witnessed during his tenure

3. Look at some of the equally bizarre transfer activity

4. Look at the style of football

5. Look at the stats for signs of “progress” and

6. Look at the average attendances since he took charge.

I think he’ll find the answers.

Yes it does matter..... if the budget is poor that dosent stop the manager managing the team does it? He’s obviously frustrated? You know him personally then? What target are you referring to ? The lad that’s going to a higher division side.... we all Norman is a huge issue and needs to go but that dosent stop aspin organising the side properly and making sensible selections and substitutions.

That was something I was thinking about as well. Depending on what happens with Kanu and Miller there could be only one recognised centre forward left at the club. I wonder if preliminary discussions about the window and possible additions haven’t gone well (plus the frustration with Sykes and German) and Aspin realises he’s on a hiding to nothing.

Don’t think the transfer targets have much to do with it and being left with one forward is his own doing!

Kanu hasn’t played hence Peterborough want him back.

Quigley hardly played hence he’s going on loan elsewhere to play.

Miller?? Who knows what’s going on there.

Of the targets Sykes is one of those really, sounds as if we offered decent money (talk of 6 figures) but league one is always a bigger pull so what can we do there?

German... he was at Hendon is he any different to Angus?
