What drives me mad is that there is absolutely no benefit to anyone, including Smurfwaite in not getting in decent players.

If we had bought in Grant and Ajose that would be our football league status confidently assured in my view and we might get gates back to the mid 4,000 level.

Remember though it was Smurf who funded Grant, Lines etc. At the time I thought this was miles better than the sort of players Bratt’s reign managed to deliver.

He even built the current, impressive club shop. I went on Saturday for the first time in ages and there was loads of stuff I would have bought....were I not skint and not wanting to give him more money...

We still get good gates for league 2, even 3,500 is better than many. Although I still remember regular 6,000 gates and being worried when it dipped into the 5s.

They were on Ajax's books as a youngster. But Ajax sign millions of kids so doesn't say much and Calvin Mac-Intosch was on Ajax's books as a youngster!

Obviously Norman's been hoodwinked again.

Probably a case of him meeting some who he thinks he is much better than when in reality the other contact person is playing him like a fiddle... Just let him think he is boss and in control of the situation but the person/agent will lead him gullibly to what they want.

Let’s not forget here that Aspin is still shopping in his more than familiar territory, he’s a not league manager at best, shopping for non league players.

That's because he knows we are going into non-league status with our Chairman and his tactics.

Quick primer for Spanish football

First tier: Primera División (20 teams) Professional

Second tier: Segunda División (22 teams) Professional

Third tier: Segunda División B (80 teams in total; four regional leagues of 20 teams each) Semi Pro

Fourth tier: Tercera División (360 teams in total; 18 regional leagues with 20 teams in each), Amateur

Fifth tier: Regional Preferente. In the Valencian community there are 72 teams split into four sub-regional groups of 18 teams. Nationally I believe there are 592 teams at this level. Amateur.

Sixth tier: Primera Regional: In the Valencian community alone there are 128 teams (8 regional leagues of 16). Very amateur. La Nucía B play at this level.
