I’m sick to death of the ridiculous team selections, tactics and the general sense of deja vu that comes with every game at the moment.

 

Here is another Vale legend that served the club with distinction as a player but who, like Glover, will have his reputation tarnished because of very poor decisions in the managers chair.

And while we are at it let’s look at NA’s main signings. Brown, Legge and Joyce are a far better spine then anything we have had over the last few years and Rawlinson, Oyeleke and Hannant all signed from non-league put plenty of league players to shame.

 

Until he can get rid of Lainton, Davis, Barnett, Kay, Pugh and Tonge, who must all be on a few quid, his hands are tied.

I so wanted Aspin be a success but he has completely lost the plot, personally I think he has decent quality in the squad but his selections baffle me to say the least.... He has no idea of his best 11 or formation for that matter we need a new manager quick while something can be salvaged from the season.

I think Aspin has made some decent signings, particlarly compared to the dross brought in by Brown. However, eight games in and we are still making several changes every week, constantly players are put out of their natural position, have loads of central midfielders and no wingers or recognised left back, and only seem to want to play when we’ve gone behind. I think we all want Aspin to succeed but he seems to shoot himself in the foot every week and I’m not convinced that he is motivating the players enough. Must say that the brand of football being played is not very entertaining either, but then again we are PORT VALE !

Joyce is getting some stick on here but when we signed him there was a great deal of approval and I can't recall anyone moaning or saying he wasn't good enough.

He's an experienced proven player in this league, I just think he's suffering from the chopping and changing like quite a few players at the moment. Injuries are playing into this but Aspo needs to get a settled side and fundamental system established as quickly as possible.

Don't be so ******* delusional that you think you speak for us all! I'm not happy with a few things...neither am I desperate like you and the other gobshites. With so much disparity in results since Aspo took over, you can't blame the bad on him, and ignore the good! Time will tell and...in any case...there IS no viable alternative!

At this moment Lancy I myself am in the stay calm camp purely because we can't keep changing managers like Leeds .

 

However mate with all respect last week he had pretty much everyone fit bar Manny . That is what squads are for I'm sure Lincoln and Newport have not had fully fit squad to choose from .

Out of 46 games you will be very lucky to be unscathed from injury or suspension.

People's frustration including my own is that he is League 2 tinkerman and I guarantee you now that against Northampton there will be at least 3 changes yet again.

None of this is condusive to a successful team

Aspins days are very much numbered - he does not have a clue. You sign players to play in a position and then he’s no clue where to play them... I know play them out of position, signs of lost the plot if you ask me.

 

Pick a team, have belief, chose a style that you think will challenge the opposition and the role with it for a few games!!! Oh, and make sure we turn up for the 1st 30 Mins of a game.

Nobody was complaining cus alot of us thought he was a decent player at this level how wrong we were.

We have played 3 out of the top 5 in the League, Lincoln in the Cup to make it 4 of the top 5. We have had some bad decisions that later in the season may go our way. We have had more absentees through injury than you might expect. We have some good new players like Brown Legge Oyleke Joyce. Miller is getting closer to what we need. Conlon and Clark look decent. We need to eradicate errors. Some players have not performed Worrall Dodds Smith Gibbons but if they can recapture their form they have some ability in the bag. Let's keep our head turning a team and club takes time. Neil Aspin deserves more time. When we have played all the teams and had time for luck to even itself out then we will all be happier. Not time to sack the manager.
