The OVF January Transfer Window thread

How bad is that? Our chairman/owner is on holiday when the window is ending and we are fighting for our survival as a league one club. But, hey, no worries because Fradley is at the helm! It beggars belief.

We've done no more business than the likes of Accrington, FGR & Barnet in this window. Think about that and reflect on it!!

Don't upset the Smurf Love Brigade with facts:wink:

Reflect on what exactly? FGR have done the Brown scattergun approach and brought anything with a pulse. Didn't do them much good the other night at Exeter , quality over quantity all day long.

Am i happy with our window no i am not but the players Barnet and FGR have signed are garbage in the main, apart from the fantastic GG of course.

How many games have Forest Green won since Gunning arrived.

With a bit of luck he will be playing in the Conference next season along with Barnet.PS that means we stay up may have been a blessing in disguise him leaving.

Exactly. But if you don't know why post rubbish, look at my previous posts I want NS out, but there is no need to put unsubstantiated allegations on this thread.

Sorry I thought it was a forum, didn’t know I was in the witness box. I withdraw my unsubstantiated claim Mr Chairman. See you tomorrow then

It's ok he left his puppets Garlick and Fradley in charge.

We might not have signed anyone if he wasn't on holiday.

Lets see just how our new arrivals play/fit in before we bust a gut, Norman might not need to get his hand down yet and upset the great god of finance, self . In Aspin and Rudge I trust.oh dear I'm sounding cynical again but it's something my dad said when he found out there was an empty coffer in the firms non-contributory pension fund, the managers and supervisors had trousered the lot,,He said with feeling, it's SELF LOOK AFTER THYSELF SAYETH HIM MYSELF, being crapped on and to have it rubbed in by those who were deemed to be your workmates and colleagues is possibly the worst thing that can happen when your company is taken over,,,,,,,nowt changes does it eh!.

Interestingly Norman was on holiday when the transfer window closed.Saved him splashing the cash from the expected Hugill windfall or maybe he was celebrating the 1.6 m dropping into his back pocket.

Being on holiday is no communication barrier nowadays. We can instantly talk to each other 24/7 - even FaceTime if needs.

Some non-league gems I've had my eye on for a while:

New CM: Jack Powell from Ebbsfleet - 23yo; energetic, creative midfielder with 14 goals in 60 games for Ebbsfleet. Exactly the type of young, up and coming player we should be looking at with a great 1 in 4 record from midfield. Free kick specialist.

New winger: James Hardy from AFC Fylde - 21yo; ex-Manchester City wideman scored 8 goals and 12 assists in 29 games as Fylde won the conference North last season.

New striker: Oladapo Afolayan from Solihull Moors - 20yo; Swansea, Leicester, Derby, Blackburn, Birmingham, Sheff Utd all watching him. Pacey forward with an impressive 8 goals in 26 appearances in the Conference this season for a team that are bottom of the league.

West Ham ended up signing this guy. If only someone at the club had a brain eh?

Which means we had zero chance. We are at the arse end of league 2.

Here comes another "Little Old Port Vale" fan with their loser mentality.

So we had zero chance of signing a player bottom of the league below us if we'd acted early in the window?

We actually signed players while he was away. The Hughill deal was not concluded until after 11pm which was the deadline time.

Do you not think Premier League West Ham would have known about him on January 1st?
