The OVF January Transfer Window thread

Do you not think Premier League West Ham would have known about him on January 1st?

So why didn't they bid for him then?

Maybe the capacity to surmise my statement has been lost.

I am merely wondering if we knew about a 19yo striker in the league below us that is scoring goals for the team bottom of the league? Of course we will never know. Given our transfer record over the past few years, I would doubt this.

It wouldn't be much of a step up (as Hannant has proven).

It wouldn't be too far for him to uproot.

He wouldn't have cost the Earth - even before Hugill's money we had the £650,000 received last season.

If we would have bid on the 1st January, he would have jumped at the chance to sign for a bigger club in the football league.

Would you not agree someone like him would have been an exciting signing?

All respect Parklife i'm sure this lad from Solihull has agents/ representatives. Even had Vale shown an interest it would of been clear that far bigger fish were lurking to take him. It is irrelevant whether West Ham brought him on the 1st Jan or 31st Jan, the mere fact they signed him suggests we wouldn't of had a cat in hells chance anyway.

We have taken a punt on Angus who may or not come good, the risk we have to take.

Pope commented that: “Norman texted me a couple of weeks ago to tell me he’d had the offer but had turned it down.

That just about sums our chairman up. Don’t tell the manager you have an offer for one of his players, don’t show some respect by talking to the players face, just text him. Oh sorry that may mean visiting your club.

Aspin did know about it, he mentioned it in an interview earlier in the month.

Where did we recieve £650,000 from last season? More like £250,000 and that was over several seasons.

I'm amazed that people don't keep up with events at the club and the shambles from Norman's ownership:

£250,000 for Jak Alnwick

£100,000 for Antony Grant (as stated by Darragh McAntony)

6 x £50,000 for exclusivity fees from parties interested in buying the club (as stated by Norman)

Mybycars,it wouldn’t be the same without the ‘grassy knoll’ theories.I wonder what comments would have been made if Aspo had said ‘sell’ or Pope said ‘yes’?No doubt the person who said ‘No’ would have got the stick. So much for accepting derisory offers.

Knock off running costs.
