Good to keep a winning feeling around the club, however pathetic this competition is.

Disappointed with the attendance though, over 1300 scabs is far to many and for me, slightly worrying.

Calling your fans scabs who went to support their side is a disgrace and just as offensive is those that have liked your post too. Not funny mate in the slightest.

The poor attendances in this competition are entirely down to the EFL for destroying what was the only competition solely for L1 and L2 clubs. The premier league with all their money just couldn't leave it alone and have to poke their noses where they don't belong. The sooner the competition changes back the better.

I agree the sooner it changes back the better - perhaps we should all lobby our glorious owner to vote differently next time, as his vote was to keep the academy sides.

We can';t change that this season, so we may as well try to win it and get what we can out of it - but don't forget the ONLY way to change it back is if owners/chairmen vote thet way, so all supporters who feel strongly should lobby or petition for that to be done.

A 3000 signature petition to Smurf might change his mind and his vote, ************ or not.

What’s not funny is the distruction of lower league football and people happy directly or indirectly to support it. I understand his view completely though I wouldn’t have used the word. I can’t defend the ignorance of those that are supporting this competition by attending games and that includes a friend and a family member.

If other clubs needed to come in to change the format i would have liked to see Conference/National league clubs. Think that would have made it more interesting and competitive.

A few interesting omissions from this evening's squad who might have expected to play - Wilson, Davis, Middleton. Thought Turner might have got a run out too but he'll have to bide his time. He's still our second highest scorer too.

I read from a reliable source that Davis is injured. I'd guess Aspin knows what Turner can do, but wanted to see the new lad Regis. It all worked well and was very entertaining.

No one has any right whatsoever to a) call fans scabs and b) try to tell them when and how they should go and support their team.

For what it's worth imo the apathy shown from fans to this competition should be the death knell for any plans to add premier league or championship u23 teams to any kind of football league format.

yet you agreed and supported the word, you act righteous yet throw comments that demean other people, quite sad how hypocritical you are - fans are people who have the right to choose to go a game or not its their prerogative --simply put nowt do with you what others do or their reasons for doing it putting it nicely

I can see the point in boycotting the games involving the premier acadamies etc but not the other teams. It seeems that if we dont attend the likes of tonights game then the clubs will be forced to take the coin offered by the premier league.

So you wouldn't have used the word scab re fellow Vale fans but "ignorance" is ok? Are you related to Fartell?

People can say what they like within forum rules. As I say I understand his post completely I just wouldn’t have used the word he did. I wouldn’t have in the 80’s over something far more serious.

It’s a huge worry a third of our club’s support is encouraging this sham.
