Is it just me or shouldn't we just see what happens against accy as far as Morgan and co are concerned? Football is strange perhaps Morgan could pull it off brown holding him back maybe? MA on an advisory capacity though.

Definitely just you 😉

I'd be done with attending games if Morgan got the job, his previous managerial experience and his defensive coaching of us shows he's not very succesful.

That's before we see his you tube gold clip! 🙄

Because of the position we in I think we definitely need experience, a young manager from none league could be good for the long term but for this season we need stability and to keep our league status. For me of the names mentioned I'd like to see Atkins or Coterill both should be available and all though will cost a bob or too they won't be on mega books and we won't have to pay a club compensation. Coleman may be a good shout but don't think we would get him away from Accrington for the money we'd want.

Three choices that wont come to a team fighting relegation at the base of league 2. Its one thing saying you disagree with a certain appointment, but we need to be realistic.

Let's hope Norman is just messing with our heads and has really appointed Chris Powell...

After I asked Norman last night to give me the chill pill he said I needed by telling me it wasn't Askey, there's been a deafening silence.

So I'll take that as a yes, it is Askey - unless Norman would like to put us all out of our misery.

Come on Norman, answer the man, is it conference with Askey or Football league with An experienced coach?

Far be it for me to defend Smurthwaite, who is totally responsible for the situation we find ourselves in and I wont defend him BUT whoever is chosen for the managers job will get slaughtered on here, and at the end of the day whoever is chosen it is a gamble.

Remember Rudge would have walked back in the day.

Chris wilder,Neil Warnock,Darrell Clarke,John Coleman,Martin Allen,Nigel clough,Paul Hurst,Paul cook,Steve Evans, Cowley Bros...all former non league managers...why can't it be a non league manager...???

Got nothing against a none league manager normally but not in the position we are in. We need experience, someone who will pretty well mean we move up the table. Now is not the time to take a gamble.

Askey is 52 and not won anything as a manager or had much experience in the Football League. Never been anywhere other than Macclesfield. Maybe he'll get us bobbing along in the Conference but ideally we'd want someone to stop us dropping down there in the first place, preferably someone who could get us back into League One.

Askey has football league experience of playing within the FL with Macc. That is what really counts when management appointments are made with so called non league managers. The real worry would be appointing a manager with no record of playing in the football league...which has never happened at the Vale
