Not really if you arent happy with the appointment surely it's correct that as a fan base you make that clearly evident?[/quote[

What so protest from the start without giving him a chance cos you don't fancy his chances? Should the fans get to vote on the appointment?

If you are happy then they get time. I'd be happy and give time to anyone that justified been given time as they have a track record of sorting clubs out.

So we ignore a rookie with potential cos the fans won;t support him and can't attract the experienced and successful cos NS won't pay enough...so we end up with an experienced failure?

Managers in the last decade bar Adams have been a total experiment, with ex players trying their hand and seeing what happens. There is no other industry where you would just see what happens with a business and expect to see the customers stick with it.

We are not customers

Imagine an established band having a down turn in takings and moving to a new manager, with no experience, no contacts and the band all being happy to see where it goes and give it time. After 7 **** gigs the fans would be after their money back and the band reputation in tatters. Hence any business built on entertainment and return custom would trust and expect to be run by someone with the experience and knowledge to have the a good steady run setup.

Supporters have loyalty..they are part of the club, they aren't part of the band

Let's be honest with Brown especially you have the equivalent of a rock band playing m people songs with no lead singer 3 bass guitars and trumpet player on the drums standing in, but some fans saying if they keep playing it will sound alright hopefully.

If they are still terrible after 10 gigs cos the manager asks the trumpet player to play the drums, has (as you say) 3 bass guitarists and a tone deaf roadie doing the singing then fairynuff..but a lot will still turn up to see the band cos it's 'their' band..they just want a different manager not a different band

Just remember that when John Lennon was asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the World John replied that Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles.

We were last season and in the top six just like the Shrews are now.Their position now means nothing if they go down after 46 games.

You know what they say,it's a marathon not a sprint?

UTV.

I think you're missing his point, the fact is they stayed up last season, we didn't. Nothing to do with current form.

Shrewsbury have thrown an awful lot of money at it in recent seasons. Nearly all the players they've signed have got long contracts.

Didn't they sign the ex-Aldershot centre half we were associated with, from Accrington last week, for a six figure sum?

They have a bigger budget, more money and more ambition than we do, not to mention a bit more cash owing to their new ground, expensively sponsored, extra from the Hart transfer and some good cup runs.

I agree with you that Hurst has done a great job, if it lasts.

Nothing changes my belief that we would have stayed up last year if say Forrester or Thomas had played more games or if we'd kept the likes of Grant, Alnwick & Jones.

It was very close and sadly we fell the wrong side of the line.

But it doesn't matter now. It's this year that we need to focus on.

I'm not necessarily a torch bearer for Brown. I was frustrated and annoyed when I saw his line-up last weekend but we can't keep changing managers all the time. 3 already in 18 months.

What irritates me a lot is that all the vitriol and criticism and anger on here now is aimed at the hapless Brown and not at the person who has effectively got us to where we are - the Chairman. He is the man who should be getting this stick for making a series of appallingly bad decisions some 18 months ago.

Hapless Brown or hopeless Brown he has had 31 games to turn it round. I don't blame Norman for this years disgraceful start to the season. He has given Brown a reasonable budget but he has wasted it on young kids and players not good enough for league football. The reason for our demise and last years relegation is that Brown is tactically useless with his bizarre negative tactics of playing one up front and making us hard to beat in his eyes but unable to score You would have thought that he would have realised that it is not working by now and he needs to change.Actually his biggest problem is that he is terrified of losing so continues to be negative. We should have been good enough last season to stay up and send teams like Shrewsbury and Oldham down but our clueless Manager managed to send us down in their place.

Do you think Norman would have sanctioned all this?

Yes we signed multiple players who were ***** in the window- two crap keepers, two young lads you didnt play from QPR, Bikie, Eagles, Pugh, Taylor, Tyler Walker, Tanser and Guy.

Thats 11 players, Brown and Garlick only offered most short term deals because most werent fit, however like Shrews there was budget available and like this years darts in a phonebook approach, a lot has been wasted on players who arent required 3 weeks after being signed.

You can make excuses for his January transfer signings and let him off a bit because it was a difficult situation. But he is fully accountable for this summer's signings and this season's tactics, team selections and results.

He did a bad job in difficult circumstances last season and although the club isn't in perfect condition right now he has been allowed full control and we now have a squad of 34 players. He has signed or re-signed every single one of those players, barring the odd possible exception such as Forrestor. He could have a completely different 34 players playing in a completely different way, or instead of 34 he could have a squad of 24. No excuses this season but already he has blamed injuries, refereeing decisions, needing time to settle and bad luck, seeing as he can't blame lack of fitness or it not being his team.
