Signings - Part 2

Aussie Rules

Recommended Posts

Tyrone Barnett is a journeyman player who seems to have kept getting loaned out. Most of all though he has not scored enough goals in his career - he is a one in five man at best. I guess I expect a lot, but I would rather Dan Turner is given a chance and Anton Forrester allowed to recover. I feel Forrester is a good player when fit. Then I would strengthen the side in midfield and defence as much as possible and maybe find a proven goal scorer at end of career, like Hughes, who can give us 50 minutes or 20 minutes from the bench but know where the net is.

Dodds was a better player than we gave him credit for - he is a league 1 player and no better, but he was a good team man and club man and that counts for a lot at our level.

If he were to join us from Wimbledon then that means we'd have signed a soon-to-be 32-year old forward that Shrewsbury and Wimbledon have paid to get rid of.

But your argument has a humongous hole in it like you say, our owner had a willingness to invest and believe last year and it cost him a fortune. There is no point paying for players who aren't great by people's own admission, I'd rather the manager sign players that get fans excited if Brown can find any. The argument is simply crazy but of course you will use it as you are irrational when it comes to the club.

Prove it? The MANAGER has told people from his OWN MOUTH for goodness sake, unless he's a liar?

Congratulations on your post, the daftest of the week

The humongous hole in your argument is that Smurf's "Investment" wasnt one that "he" made and was willing to lose. As has been explained to you many time, but you refuse to listen to because you are blind to whats going on (becuause you havent been told directly which sends you into a mardy spell)... He is demanding that money back in the form of loans, and is now holding the club ransome through a completely ridiculous valuation.

I had dinner the other night with a guy who works for a renound bif 4 accounting firm in a division which specialises in the valuation of football clubs. We discussed the vale situation and he was simply dumbfounded as the valuation of the club, the ground and the fact that anyone is stupid enough to value a business based on the money they have loaned the club rather than its assets and future prospects.

You crack me up... So do you think Smurf came in and said "Ok Browny, your budget this year will be £Xm

this year, but you are really unlucky because if I wasnt such a rubbish owner it would have been 40% bigger?"

Or do you think he came in, told him it would be £xm and that was it??

Smurf himself said he set the budget and passed it to the team. So I repeat... you don't know what the budget would have been if the stupidity didnt have to be paid off... do you? Or do you? You might.... but you dont. And neither does Browny, and neither does Garlick... only one man does... Your best mate Norman.

So congratulations on your post, I would say daftest of the week... but thats always you. Instead I will say its the post that misses the point by the furthest distance.

He tried. The wonderful owner didn't give him the resources or the platform of a club that any of them wanted to come to. Queue the "You cant prove it mardy squeels" of REP

You cant prove there wouldnt be more money available in this years budget if Smurf didnt have to pay off the stupid decision he made that set the club backwards either.

That's all just fantasy.

Until he gets any money back it's his investment. That is the cold hard reality however much you choose to ignore it.

They're a comparatively well run club.

Their fans have been relatively happy since they got Robins in, doing a decent job there & I reckon they'll be competing for play-offs or possibly automatic this season.

You think it is... i have heard stuff that makes me confident it isn't.

I appreciate you don't have the info I have heard and don't want to believe it.

But you can understand why it makes me so angry given I HAVE heard it... so lucky you. Ignorance is bliss and it shows why you don't fully grasp what's going on.
