I'd be amazed if clubs loaned out players in May. They usually wait until August and assess their needs and their squads before releasing players on loan. Can't believe we'd loan anyone yet for several weeks.

 

The last two weeks of May and first two in June are traditionally when footballers go on their hols so it could be a little while before all the pieces drop into place.

Not sure about Walker anyway. He started with a bang and then did little else before getting injured. He does have pace and may forge a good partnership with Pope, but I don't believe there's not others out there that could offer the same.

Congratulations to Jak Alnwick on a winning debut for Rangers, who beat St Johnstone 2-1 away. I'm sure the vast majority of Vale fans will remember his great contribution in a far too short spell at Vale, and wish him a happy and successful time at his new club.

In my opinion, he is good enough to become a regular first teamer at Rangers. and have a great career there.

Fair play to Jak. Was a great keeper for us but it's a shame he went there. Must be the least competitive league in Europe. Thought he could have gone to a championship club.

Yes, I agree. Definitely in the top 3 or 4 Vale keepers I have ever seen (and that is a lot - at least 25) and capable of becoming a star at the highest level. True incompetence to let him slip through our fingers and get such a small fee, which probably only covers about a tenth of the cost of the loony signings of last summer and the resultant payoffs and losses.

 

I also agree with Woakesy that it is a pity he went to such an uncompetitive league, but Rangers deserve credit for spotting him and giving him a chance at a higher level - would be nice to see him back with a Premiership or top Championship club sometime though.
