Matchday Thread: Gillingham v Port Vale

I also notice that Louis Dodds has scored more goals this season than all our 96 midfielders put together have managed.

From what I remember Dodds was a bench warmer who played mainly behind the main striker not midfield.

Obviously his goal return is not enough to keep him in a struggling Shrewsbury team.

Back to bench warming which was his favourite position during his spell at the Vale.

One good game in five.

Smith and Streete both had good games, but neither Tyler Walker nor Hooper looked like scoring for the second week running. It looks like Reggie is being eased out of the picture and whilst he's no world-beater he's a better option than the ineffective Forrester.

Ps Another near-silent Vale support today. It seems we like our football seated and in a cricket match atmosphere. Really depressing.

Another happy clapper who is living in the past.

You were probably one of the Page supporters who thinks Dodds and co were brilliant.

Brilliant well thought out response! I disliked Page intensely for his tactics , I liked Dodds but didn't rate the rest of the players you mentioned. But don't let that get in the way of posting daft ideas. I was commenting on the stupidity of your post not you but there you go and get personal.

Wind your neck in a tad pal!

If you mean Michael Brown then I'd say he knows exactly what's needed to right the ship.

We're not "closer to the drop" as we've not gone down the table.

But never mind, blind pessimism will help us won't it?

Aren't we now 3 points above the drop instead of 4 before we played.

Obviously Michael Brown was desperate when he bought Chris Eagles and Scott Tanser who are no better way than players already at the club.

We all know that due to our experiment that Dodds, AJ, Dickinson etc are better than the ***** we've endured , now move on.

Dickinson is no better than kiko or knopps, infact is much worse and is failing miserably along with O'Connor and Duffy for Notts county. The only player we miss from last season is Dodds. He would've fitted in really well into the system Bruno used and we are desperately missing his 8/9 goals from midfield.
