Well it's bloody Scunthorpe not Real Madrid we're playing. To lose having been 1-0 up and 2-1 up is indefensible and the players need to have a good look at themselves.

What is up with you? Ive told you to calm down its not good for your blood pressure. We are playing one of the best teams in the league....Bury are not a bad side. It was 2 mistakes by 3 players, the centre halves and Purkiss. To be fair to Smith he may have been injured and he probably should have gone off.

The performances under Brown are far superior to those under Bruno. We have, at last, a threat in front of goal.

There are games when a "unlucky lads, good effort lads" is warranted but there comes a time when they need a good kick up the arse. How many sloppy goals have we given away that the opposition haven't had to work hard for recently?? Two last week, three today so five points just gifted away. Its happening too much. I'd be surprised if Purkiss plays next because he's been an absolute liability since he returned to the 1st team and I'd say a new right back is now needed, as well as a winger, goalie (assuming Jak goes)and centre half.

Could easily have been described as 2nd v 3rd by those that didn't know their respective league position's.Scunthorpe were lucky to get the win in.my view and this bodes well for Vale's inevitable rise up the table.

Hope u right i thought the signs were there v Bury especially attacking wise .

So disappointed in the defensive work though but better than v Huddersfield away last game as we scored two and had a few more attempts .

Why wasnt Forrester and Cecelia brought on though Hooper and young Walker played well v Bury but the other 2 helped us finish the game stronger and i was surprised they didnt get on .

Next weeks game is a must win game now. Draws at home are no good now. 5-6 wins needed out of 19 games left is surely achievable. Right?

According to Statto, the number of points needed to avoid relegation in each of the last 10 seasons is as follows:

47

51

48

49

44

48

51

50

49

48

In some cases, GD would have been enough (so, for example in 09/10 50 + GD would have been enough).

So, to be sure, unless we're very lucky, we need 51 points. That's 19 points from 19 games, 9 of which are at home and 10 away. Plenty of games you would think but, given that we've only got 7 points so far away from home, we probably need to win 5 of the 9 home games and get 4 points away from home.

All a bit nerve wracking and very little room for manoeuvre.

People have been saying all season they can handle a defeat if we've played well and been competitive..just shows how fickle some fans are

Why the need to slag the fans? Everyone is entitled to their own views.

Mine, for what it's worth, encouraged by the improvement today. And by guy, walker & hopper. And buy 442 and the threat going fwd it gives us. Concerned about our slide down the table, points gap from drop, tough games coming, plan b, 'trump Esque' chairman & possible loss of jak.

I'm just pointing out that since the final whistle there's more negativity on here, twitter, Facebook and praise and grumble. I respect opinions but people are just so ready for a moan no matter what.

We win and play terrible and people moan.

We lose and play well and people moan.

When you see it put like that you just wish we could have beaten oldham and bury

C'mon Bea, Norman has made plenty of mistakes and the Bruno saga was plain madness but not signing Danny Rowe is nothing to do with the chairman. There's no way we can compete with the likes of Ipswich when it comes to signing players.

Possibly, we don't know really - but perhaps it would be fairer of me to wait until the transfer window closes and see whether he gets someone else. Let's see if the overall squad improves between now and then perhaps ?

After wasting so much on Bruno based on a phone call from a surly self-serving horror at Old Trafford that left him starstruck (did you know, Norman, the word Gullible isn't actually in the dictionary? ) he then allowed a dozen or more players to come from all over Europe when it is likely the majority of them hadn't been scouted or seen.

If we had just got 4 or 5 of the European players in, a couple more young prospects like Guy and Walker, and 2 or 3 experienced leaders things could have been so much better.

I'm not against foreign players in any way, but expecting so many to settle, gel into a squad, communicate together and with the manager and others, come to terms with the area, the fans, the culture.....it was truly insane to try it with 12. 13 players when we might have been able to integrate and benefit from 4 or 5.

If MB or even Page had been given the same resources as Bruno at the start of the season, who knows where we would have been - certainly not 18th and in serious danger.

OK, hindsight... and I do think MB and many of his team will do well, they have the promise to be a decent set of players led by a more than decent manager - but not if the chairman spends the next few days selling the best of them and failing to repace/ recruit or getting in untried chancers on the cheap.

Time to support your manager and allow him what he needs to keep us in this division - and QUICK, Mr Chairman.
