I've always hoped that Ribero's would payoff for us but was never sure it was the right appointment, however, with no win in the league since mid November tells its own story, so I'm sorry to say he must now go.

 

Rowett is out of our reach IMHO however Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink did very well at Burton, they didn't concede many played well and got results under him - all of which was on a tight budget.

 

Don't get me wrong I think Rowett is a very good up and coming manager who I'd love to see appointed, but being realistic we have more chance of landing someone like JFH than we do with Rowett.

I've also tried to back him and early on I thought he had something and the football at home at least was decent but his inflexibility, stubborness and complete inability to learn from mistakes but the football has got worse and the away record is pathetic yet he has never tried to address it- just doing the same thing over again. I still think there is a decent squad there, a damn decent one but the manager is now hindering the team and has to go i'm afraid.

I said a few weeks ago the bottom was looking a lot closer than the top of the league well it's looking a frightening lot closer now.

Zonal marking and one up front is not the way to play in L1 and would be a disaster in L2.

This is what you get from bringing in a failed foreign manager and signing players off the back of a two minute clip of film provided by unscrupulous agents.

Come on Smurf before your investment in Port Vale ends back in the bottom tier.

Put your hand in your pocket and get a decent manager into the club and some outside PR people on board because quite clearly you are out of your depth!
