What kind of reception will Page get?

 

Personally, i think he'll get dogs abuse but he did a reasonable job for us without pulling up any trees. However, the way in which he left the club covered neither party in much glory.

It will be interesting to see this very young team up against a league one side.

Playing '29 yards' further up the pitch again should help.

I'm not getting carried away by Sunday's performance, but I did enjoy what I saw, which was a very pleasant surprise.

As mentioned,we 'only' played Hartlepool.

Other L1 teams 'only' played Cambridge, Wycombe, Lincoln and Curzon Ashton.

Puts it into perspective for me.

The lads did a very professional job on Sunday and deserve credit.

It was a good professional performance Sunday and in the main I don't see why the same team doesn't deserve to start. Although arguably I can see Bruno dropping Kelly for either Thomas (if fit) or Hart.

 

It'll be interesting to see what reception Pages gets, especially after we learnt his leaving was supposedly 'engineered' by Norm.

Rob Page is a decent guy who deserves some respect for the way he conducted himself while at Vale.

 

Of course I'll be happy to start a "Pagey Pagey what's the score" chant if we're 3-0 up !!

Rob Page always struck me as a decent man being who has more class and dignity in his toe-nail clippings than the kind of person who makes ^that^ kind of statement has in their entire body.

Well the bookies have made Northampton favs for this game. The last time we played these was the 2-2 game infront of 12.500 fans.And i dont think theres a current Vale player who was with us then, bar Yates.

Looking forwards to the game nothing against Rob Page he did what he could with the players at his disposal.

Although away at Burton i told him in no uncertain terms what i thought of a truly dreadful performance.

UTV id make one change it would be Thomas for Kelly the lad is struggling to find his form he is trying but he isnt performing to a level i expect .

Absolutely correct--you can only play against whatever the opposition is on the day--as you say, some other notable League One sides 'bit the dust' against so called lesser opposition!

Looking forward to this one. I would love nothing more than us to give Page and his boys a hiding. I actually do rate Page as a manager and I was disappointed to see him go in the summer but I'm glad we made the transition and tried something different.

Thomas (if fit, if not stick with Kelly)

I would love to see Purkiss return and push Taylor into CM. I believe that all this about Purkiss being injured is a load of rubbish and that it is just a cover up because of the fall out.

I can see us winning this one 2-0, Reggie and Jones to score!
