Mr Smurf says he wants a proven league one goalscorer. Pope by anychance?

 

He's past his best and was never anything than slightly below average in League One in the first place. Some people's obsession with Tom Pope on this forum is a bit frightening.

I think we can rule out Pope and Tyson.

 

It it was me I'd go for a player like Marshall - a quick winger who can create and score goals.

 

It's the service to the strikers that is lacking.

Good shout, may even be better than before with a different game style.

We have four strikers by my count (Forrester, Hooper, Cicilia, Saleiro) and I think we're going to play one up top, certainly at the start. 4 strikers is enough for playing 2 regularly up front, never mind 1. I think whoever we bring in over the next few weeks will be players who can play wide in the 4-3-3. As TheSage says, it's the service to the strikers we're probably lacking.
